Four intense days, full of inspiration, learning and valuable connections - that's how we experienced the first edition of the four-event Wood Hub series scheduled for 2025! From March 20-23, at Romexpo Bucharest, within #TotulPotulPentruCasaTa (Furniture Expo + Construct-Ambient Expo), the Wood Hub brought together enthusiasts, professionals and the curious around a common vision: redefining the wood community in Romania.
How we designed our stand
For this first edition in 2025, we designed a space that perfectly reflects the dual nature of wood - both as a building material and as a medium for artistic expression through furniture.
We created a "room" delimited by four corners of the house made of CLT panels from our partners at Glulam- a concrete example of how wood can be used in modern, efficient and sustainable construction. These panels not only provided a stylish backdrop for everything that was going on inside the Hub, but also served as educational material for visitors interested in timber construction.
In this space, we showcased exceptional furniture pieces created by our woodworking artists from the Wood Hub team:
- Radu Călian delighted us with stylized poles, a refined design that combines functionality with aesthetics, and an ingenious chandelier with integrated storage space that can also be used as a piece of furniture
- Radu Vădan has launched its first collection, which includes tables, coffee tables, chairs, a chest of drawers and beds, all enthusiastically received by visitors
The hands-on demonstration area was lively throughout the event, hosting both the advertised workshops - hand weaving, veneer weaving and curved lamination - and many other interactive activities that drew the public. Here, Mihai Ursu and Fane Pănăzan also presented their new Prinsoro concept, an innovative organization system that can transform any space - from the workshop to the kitchen - into a tidy and efficient environment.
Fane Pănăzan's famous Fane Pănăzan brand handcrafted special handmade wooden planter was once again the star of our raffle, attracting enthusiastic participants throughout the event. It was won by Janos Kelemen from Brasov.
Wooden houses - beyond the myths
The timber construction sector was dominated by the impressive structure offered by CasArbor, on which we also installed the spectacular staircase with two turns created by Fane Pănăzan and Mihai Ursu under the Creative Bear brand.
Emil Baciu, our timber construction expert and technical manager Cadwork BIM 3D-CAD/CAM, was present throughout the fair, providing expert advice and helping visitors to better understand the advantages and possibilities of timber construction. Through concrete examples and technical explanations, we were able to debunk many of the myths that still persist around wooden houses, demonstrating that they are durable, safe and representative of modern quality construction.
Poiana lui Vădan - debates that ignited passions
The debates moderated by Radu Vădan exceeded expectations, generating lively and constructive discussions. The conversations, both on "Carpentry as a business", as well as "Wood, the building material of the future?" continued long after the official sessions ended, over a glass of craft beer provided by our partners at Clandestine.
These debates have quickly become a focal point of the whole event, reinforcing the role of the Wood Hub as a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences in the industry.
Thanks to partners and visitors
The success of this edition would not have been possible without the involvement of our partners, to whom we would like to express our heartfelt thanks. You can find them all on the website hublemn.ro.
Of course, we thank all the visitors - professionals, enthusiasts or simply curious - who crossed the threshold of the Wood Hub and contributed to the energy of this space. Every question, every conversation, every moment of inspiration shared added value to our collective experience.
