With more than 25 years of experience in organizing fairs and exhibitions, Cornelia Lutz returns to Messe München after 11 years at Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen (GHM), where she gained expertise in the field of trade fairs for the craft sector.

"With Cornelia Lutz, we have an experienced trade fair organizer joining us at BAU who knows us very well. Her expertise and industry knowledge make her the perfect fit for us, and we look forward to working with her," said Messe München CEO Reinhard Pfeiffer, introducing the new Exhibition Director.

A driving force for innovation in the craft sector

Within the GHM, Cornelia Lutz was not only responsible for the strategic development of the events, but also for the planning and implementation of the congress "Zukunft Handwerk", which recommends her as a driving force for future-oriented topics in the handicraft sector. She also initiated the annual specialized conference for female entrepreneurs and women in the craft sector.

In her new position, she will be responsible not only for events in the BAU network, but also for the f.re.e. travel and leisure fair, as well as INTERFORST, the key international fair for forestry and forest technology.

"I am excited about the new challenge and look forward to developing and implementing innovative ideas and concepts for BAU together with the team. I am sure that I will be able to make a constructive contribution with my wealth of experience from various perspectives in the world of trade fairs over the past years," said Cornelia Lutz about her return to Messe München.

Matthias Strauss closes after 15 years

His predecessor, Matthias Strauss, left the company in March at his own request after more than 15 years. "Matthias Strauss shaped the BAU network and set the strategic direction for a successful future. He also knew how to further develop the fairs and establish valuable partnerships. I would like to sincerely thank him for his commitment." said Reinhard Pfeiffer.

About BAU

BAU brings together the industry's market leaders in this multi-commercial exhibition every two years and is considered an innovation engine and industry network. The range of exhibits is divided according to building materials, products and themes. The BAU is attended by all those involved internationally in the planning, construction and design of buildings: architects, planners, investors, representatives of industry and trade, craftsmen and many others.

One of BAU's unique competitive advantages is that it brings together know-how from all sectors and crafts at a high international level. Numerous supporting program events, including high-profile forums with experts from around the world, complement the fair program.

The next BAU will take place from January 11-15, 2027 at Messe München, Germany.
