Expansion to Central and Eastern Europe will create 40 jobs and produce 8 million m² of insulation panels annually
Unilin has announced a €40 million investment to build a new insulation factory in Leśnica, Poland. The company has acquired a 12.3-hectare plot of land in the southwest of the country, where it will start construction of a factory for the production of PIR insulating panels during 2025.

The factory will have a production capacity of 8 million m². According to the announced plans, the plant will become operational by the end of 2026 and will create 40 new jobs in the region.
Leśnica - the new Unilin hub for insulation in Poland
The acquired land is located in Leśnica, in the Strzelce district of south-western Poland. Unilin is already present in Poland, operating a vinyl flooring factory in the neighboring town of Lubliniec under the name Lentex.
In the coming months, the company will start preparatory work for the construction of the new production facility. The factory will produce PIR insulating panels for pitched and flat roofs, floors and walls under the Utherm range. These products are designed for energy-efficient homes, helping to reduce energy costs, lower carbon footprints and create a more sustainable and comfortable living environment.
Strategic geographic expansion
Wim Messiaen, CEO of Unilin, explains: "Currently, our insulation activities have no presence in the Eastern European region. The new factory perfectly complements our existing geographical footprint. Each production facility serves customers within a radius of approximately 500 km, more than that is not economically or environmentally justifiable."
With this investment, Unilin aims to penetrate the growing market in Eastern and Central Europe, targeting Poland, eastern Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. "Spurred by the Green Deal and economic growth in the region, we expect a significant increase in demand for our products," Messiaen adds.
