From tomorrow, February 3 to February 6, Lyon's Eurexpo exhibition complex is hosting Eurobois 2026 - the most important wood industry fair in France.
The 2024 edition attracted over 29,000 trade visitors and more than 520 exhibitors. For 2026, the organizers announce a program built around three pillars: innovation, expertise and commitment to sustainability.
„Eurobois 2026 comes at a time of profound change for the wood industry. Responding to the challenges of energy transition, innovation and training, we have designed a program that allows professionals to look to the future of the sector,” says Alexandra Moncorgé, the fair's director.

What's new in 2026
Among the novelties of this edition, a few are worth mentioning. Matériauthèque is a material library developed in collaboration with FORMÆ magazine, where visitors can explore innovative samples and materials - a window into the sector's green and technological trends.
Just Wood It is an educational project organized with Compagnons du Devoir. Visitors can see and participate in all the stages of making wooden chairs - from design to engraving and assembly. The chairs will then be donated to a public institution in Lyon.
In the area WorldSkills, Nine competitors from the French carpentry, cabinetmaking and joinery teams will demonstrate their skills - in preparation for the international round in Shanghai, scheduled for September 2026.

Wood Arena: topical debates
Forum Wood Arena, organized in partnership with Editions des Halles, Wood Surfer and Bati-Journal, proposes discussions on topics such as the reuse and recycling of wood as a strategic resource, the role of standards in accident prevention, design and technology in wood interior design, and understanding the new generations of employees.
Julien Estier, an expert in intergenerational management, will speak on this last topic. Between recruitment pressure, „quiet quitting” and the search for meaning in work, Estier offers insight into the expectations of young talent and the necessary evolution of HR practices.
A wooden yacht for the Vendée Globe
The patron of the 2026 edition is yachtsman and entrepreneur Marc Thiercelin, who presents an ambitious project: building a new generation yacht for the Vendée Globe 2028, using natural European wood, bamboo and hemp fibers alongside synthetic fibers.
„This is a world first. A challenge with three ambitions: recyclability, industrial replicability and transmission to future generations. Eurobois is the ideal place to share this approach,” says Thiercelin.
Eurobois Awards
competition Eurobois Awards will reward innovations presented by exhibitors. Fifteen solutions pre-selected by a panel of experts will be evaluated by a professional jury, a student jury (from ENSTIB, ESB and CREAD) and the public.
Eurobois 2026 runs from February 3 to 6 at Eurexpo Lyon. More info on www.eurobois-events.com.
