\"Day 3\" is a sum of another two and a half days in which we covered almost 5% of everything the designers had to offer in the spaces set up outside the main Fiera Milano show floor. Yes, you read that right: 5%. If the main exhibition could have been covered in a week, the one outside it -\u00a0Fuori Salone -<\/strong> would cover two weeks of a tourist's time on roller skates.<\/p>\n

Even with the largest exhibition space in this part of Europe and there are still a lot of exhibitors literally left out. What started out as a desire to exhibit more has over the years evolved into a second simultaneous exhibition with the Milan Furniture Fair. This later gave rise to the name Milano Design Week, as it tries to bring ALL small pieces under one umbrella.<\/p>\n

FuoriSalone (Outside the Salon) is a powerful movement of exhibitors (both emerging and established) to showcase their creations in an atypical way. More often than not, a picture is created in which the designers' fanciful visions are exceptionally blended with the rigor of architecture and the ergonomics and utility associated with interior design. In short, you go to the show to buy, you go outside to be inspired. And because exhibitors work on the same principle, the battle to see who has the most beautiful balcony, or stand, is on the town.<\/p>\n

And as I said in the first paragraph, you need a lot of energy to cover even half of what the city has to offer, and a lot of realization that you won't be able to cover everything you want to cover in a week. From what I've crossed off the list, a few installations stuck in my mind.<\/p>\n

The Litta Variations \/ 4th Movement by ASIF KHAN<\/h2>\n

The interior entrance courtyard of the Litta Palace was dominated by ASIF KHAN's sculpture; a reinterpretation of the old forests and the joy of enlightenment. Inside the palace I liked the pieces exhibited by ASTEP<\/a> if SOLLOS<\/a>.<\/p>\n
