We live in a rapidly changing world. We all have the desire to learn, to keep up to date with what is new in the field we work in. I remember walking around Herning\/Denmark one evening and seeing many groups of 10-15 people sitting in a circle inside buildings attending meetings. It was explained to me then that these kinds of meetings are very common and are part of a regular networking process of exchanging ideas and information. The circle was just a way of giving everyone equal status in the meeting. I have wanted to participate and promote this kind of networking ever since. I believe that the constant exchange of information and the links that are formed between people are things that make us progress, both personally and as a society. With its launch, the Wooden Magazine has set out to promote these kinds of projects which, by their very nature, move things forward. With this in mind, last night I attended the event organized by Dizain\u0103r - Design in the Cold, 13th edition. It was a repeat edition due to the large number of applications.<\/p>\n
The topic was the construction of houses on wooden structure, with the guests Costi Z\u0103rnescu, manufacturer of the Eco-Kit structure and Gabriel B\u0103ni\u021b\u0103, construction engineer, building contractor, founder of GEKKO Construct. Unfortunately, Costi Z\u0103rnescu could not attend this second meeting.<\/p>\n
Architects, designers, design students, recent architecture graduates, IT specialists, engineers, wood enthusiasts, we were all engaged in an interesting discussion about houses made of wooden structures, how they are made, their advantages and disadvantages, costs, and we easily slipped into other topics related to the subject - new wooden structures for construction, ways to make houses quickly and cheaply, smart houses, types of wood, wood drying, and many others. What impressed me, as a man who was not of the generation present at this meeting, was the openness to the new and the desire for knowledge of those present. I can tell you that I would like to take part in such meetings again, and I congratulate and support Dizain\u0103r in what he is doing.<\/p>\n
Based on my introduction and the experience I had at Dizain\u0103r, I want to emphasize that Revista din Lemn will make it a point to encourage and support such events.
