Din Lemn magazine seeks to feature interesting woodwork every time. This time they are integrated into a project for a studio apartment. The project is realized by the team of architects from Miso Architects who designed an open and bright space. The studio, spread over an area of 52 square meters, is composed of a spacious room of 40 square meters, a kitchen and a bathroom. In addition, it benefits from a considerable glazed area of more than 5 m in length.<\/p>\n

Starting from the shape of the room, taking into account the advantage of light and the obvious separation from the functional area of the kitchen, it was decided to divide the room into two spaces - the living and the night.<\/p>\n

This demarcation is achieved by differentiating the texture and elevation of the flooring between the two areas, with the bedroom raised on a wood-panelled platform. Access is possible from two sides, from the living area and the 'hallway' area.<\/p>\n

The platform also has a functional role, with storage spaces, in the form of drawers or a hatch. The main drawer at the base of the platform has the system and dimensions of a single bed, so that it can be used as a single bed if needed by attaching a mattress.<\/p>\n

Delimiting this space from the living area is also achieved by a wall of oak slats, fastened with a special system designed to allow each slat to rotate around its own axis, forming a closed wall. In the bedroom area, where natural light is less available, a design element has been installed to create an interesting play of shadows. It is a wall made of different shaped pieces of plywood and LED lighting, which manages to give the space a pleasant ambient light.<\/p>\n

The light fittings in the living and sleeping areas are handmade from wood veneer. Their designers believe that nothing else diffuses light more beautifully than natural wood veneer.<\/p>\n
