Quant aux meubles en planches et lambris d\u00e9riv\u00e9s du bois, nous les consid\u00e9rons comme des produits bas de gamme destin\u00e9s \u00e0 ceux qui n'ont pas les moyens de s'offrir des meubles en bois massif. Mais lorsque ces mat\u00e9riaux rencontrent un designer et un fabricant exceptionnels, le r\u00e9sultat est un chef-d'\u0153uvre. Il a fait ses \u00e9tudes dans ce pays et a obtenu son dipl\u00f4me d'architecte \u00e0 l'universit\u00e9 Francisco Marroquin en 1994. Apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son dipl\u00f4me, il s'est rendu en Italie, o\u00f9 il a travaill\u00e9 pendant deux ans dans le domaine de la sculpture en bronze au studio d'Armando Basile \u00e0 Florence, puis dans le domaine du marbre au Studio di Nicola \u00e0 Carrara. De retour au Guatemala, il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 en 1997 un atelier d'art, de sculpture et de restauration, Estudio Pietra, o\u00f9 il a travaill\u00e9 jusqu'en 2000, date \u00e0 laquelle il est revenu \u00e0 l'architecture.<\/p>\n<p>Il a d'abord cr\u00e9\u00e9 un bureau d'architecture - Substancia - sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9 dans l'architecture d'espaces r\u00e9sidentiels et commerciaux. D\u00e8s le d\u00e9part, l'objectif \u00e9tait d'offrir aux clients un service complet, de la conception \u00e0 l'ex\u00e9cution et \u00e0 l'ameublement int\u00e9gral.  Substancia a \u00e9t\u00e9 le point de d\u00e9part et l'a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser qu'il \u00e9tait n\u00e9cessaire de changer la fa\u00e7on de faire de l'architecture, de cr\u00e9er des objets. En 2006, il a donc fond\u00e9 Piegatto, un concept int\u00e9gral qui r\u00e9unit l'architecture, l'art et le design avec la conception param\u00e9trique. Trois id\u00e9es principales ont pr\u00e9sid\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation du produit :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>La chaise doit \u00eatre enti\u00e8rement fabriqu\u00e9e (pieds, accoudoirs, dossier, etc.) dans le m\u00eame mat\u00e9riau.<\/li>\n<li>Il s'agit d'une pi\u00e8ce monolithique qui se comprime vers l'int\u00e9rieur pour former le si\u00e8ge et la jambe et qui, \u00e0 un moment donn\u00e9, s'ouvre vers l'ext\u00e9rieur pour former les bras.<\/li>\n<li>Maximiser l'efficacit\u00e9 de la consommation de bois gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la technologie informatique.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>En fait, c'est cette derni\u00e8re id\u00e9e qui a \u00e9t\u00e9 au c\u0153ur du projet. Or, il s'agit de meubles en contreplaqu\u00e9. Toute cette technologie informatis\u00e9e qui, en plus d'utiliser le mat\u00e9riau le plus efficacement possible, permet des coupes sp\u00e9ciales et l'agencement le plus sophistiqu\u00e9 possible des \u00e9l\u00e9ments constitutifs, tout en maintenant la solidit\u00e9 et l'efficacit\u00e9 de l'objet, parvient \u00e0 ajouter une grande valeur au mat\u00e9riau de base.
