Conacul Brătescu is an imposing building, which steals the eyes of those who are passing through Bran and certainly attracts the attention of those who are looking for "different" places to spend their vacations. When I saw this place, I said to myself that as beautiful as the building is, I'm sure I would discover an interior to match. That tasteful, authentic and beautiful interior complemented with furniture both old and new, an interior that foreigners who come to visit our country are very much looking for. I also like the fact that being a relatively recent construction it is perfectly harmonized architecturally with the style of the area.
It belongs to a young family who wanted to build something special, something that will impress and offer tourists rich experiences. They certainly made a wonderful choice, inspired by the context of the region and the neighborhood of Bran Castle. The Brătescu Manor is integrated into the tourist circuit and offers the atmosphere of a Transylvanian manor house, plus it has a family story attached to it that beautifully supports this concept.
Architect Gabriel Henegar realized the architecture of the building. The wooden beams, romantic balconies, large windows and large spaces for rooms and restaurant create a very pleasant and inspiring space. Modern solutions have been used in the construction of this mansion, the roof is fitted with solar panels.
Also impressive is the work of designer Marinela Filip who has designed every corner of the interior. Her choices in terms of furniture, decorations and their placement give personality to each space. The antique pieces of furniture and decorative objects, lighting fixtures are in perfect harmony with the architectural style of the space.
The rooms of the Brătescu Mansion have a unique design. They are described as a harmonious blend of retro and modern style. The exaggerated attention to detail, the refinement and the original period furniture impress.
Almost all the furniture in the Conac is period, authentic, reconditioned or reconfigured to suit each room. The painted furniture in the bathroom is in pure Transylvanian style complementing the overall style.
In one of the rooms, above the bed, all around is a wooden peasant wooden polka. It's a rustic room with windows on three sides, a romantic atmosphere and a three-way view.
The soberness of the period furniture, accentuated by the dark brown beams and wainscoting on the floor and ceiling, is counterbalanced by the romanticism of the blue flowers on a white background.
The traditionally decorated attic brings together authentic pieces and modern reconfigurations.
The bedside tables made from cut pieces of wood, the rustic sewing machine, the peasant rugs, the Cucuteni pottery bowl, the mirror inlaid in phoa, the hand-painted washbasin ...
It is no secret that Bran is one of the most visited places in Romania. The crowds of tourists who "occupy" it on any mini-holiday occasion, as well as the countless hostels, villas and houses that have filled the area are clear proof. But because this Conac is a place for those who cherish stories, traditions and good taste, it can make you come back and revisit Bran again and again.
