In the last few days we have given you some hints about the participation of Din Lemn magazine in nZEB goes Passive, an event organized by Marius Șoflete and his team on November 10-12 in Cluj-Napoca, on BT Arena. The time has come to tell you more about this participation. Revista din Lemn is a media partner of the event, but our presence will mean more than simply reporting what will happen there. The team will be expanded to include Fane Pănăzan, Radu Vădan, Radu Călian, Mihai Ursu and Costel Pop. They will be present throughout the fair at the Revista din Lemn stand on the first floor, very close to the stage where workshops and presentations will take place. They will bring their workbenches, tools and their skills. Yessssss, Fane will be bringing his complete collection of Stanley rinds. We have prepared for you a program full of information and hands-on demonstrations that will take place, both at the booth and on stage. We'll have a competition and raffle, and I'll have presentations on wood finishing and treatment.
What is nZEB goes Passive
Last year the event organized in Cluj by the Șoflete team together with pRO-nZEB cluster was called nZEB Week in Cluj-Napoca. There were over 50 exhibitors, 20 workshops, 60 theoretical sessions and more than 4000 visitors. The atmosphere of last year's event is described in full here. This year the Șoflete team organizes nZEB goes Passive where there will be more than 100 exhibitors and, compared to last year, many more workshops and presentations, taking place on 2 stages, at the stands and on the outdoor platform of the arena. Organizers are expecting well over 4000 visitors over the 3 days of the fair.
What is it about nZEB goes Passive? I think many people have already found out what the nZEB standard for energy efficient buildings means, especially as it will be mandatory from 2020. Find more information here. Passive house is the maximum level of energy efficiency that can now be achieved in buildings, practically the level towards which we should all be striving. The signs are increasingly clear that we need to be as energy efficient as possible, that the future is about sustainability and durability. The event in Cluj aims to inform, to present solutions, to bring material manufacturers and builders face to face with beneficiaries so that we can build better and more energy-efficient buildings.
What's in store at the Wooden Magazine stand
The stall will be a fully-fledged workshop. It will have 2 woodworking benches, hand tools - chisels, chisels, saws - sharpening tools (stones, files, pliers). The tools belong to the carpenters in the team - Fane Pănăzan, Radu Vădan, Radu Călian and Mihai Ursu - who will be working in front of you all 3 days. The cabinet with Fane's complete collection of Stanley rindele will also be on the stand. The craftsmen propose to make a ladder handrail, a window and a light fitting, all hand-tooled. Also on the team will be a carpenter - Costel Pop - who will be making part of a traditional porch and various joints used in carpentry. He will also bring his own tools.
Those who come to the booth will be able to interact and work with members of the team. Because there's a lot to do and talk about, we've divided everything into days. Friday is the day dedicated to hand tool profiling, Saturday is about wood joinery, and on Sunday the finished objects will be prepared for finishing and will be finished. Also on Sunday, various treatments to remove decay and insects, to protect wood from fire, fungus and mold will be presented.
