The enhanced functionality of the LX50 Series bandsaws is the result of modernization by Wood-Mizer engineers. The upgraded LX50START and LX50SUPER ribbon saws feature a simplified cutter head neck shape and optimized cutter head post construction.

Both ribbon saws are based on a three-segment bed with segments measuring 1.33 m in the START version and 1.53 m in the SUPER version. In addition, the maximum cutting length can be customized to meet user needs by extending the bed with additional segments.

The LX50START model comes standard with 4 side supports, easy to mount from above (2 longer and 2 shorter). The LX50SUPER version features 2 adjustable side supports that can be quickly adjusted along the bar, adapting their height to the diameter of the log being machined. On the LX50 series saws, the cross-sections have been modified, increasing their number to five (six on the LX50SUPER model) and additionally reinforced with bars. The START version of the saw is equipped with a manual log clamp, while the SUPER version has two such clamps. Adjustable legs are standard on the LX50SUPER, while on the LX50START they are available as an option.

Operation of the LX50 Series is ergonomic and intuitive, with the operator in a comfortable position that provides optimal visibility of the cutting process. The user can manually adjust the height of the cutting head using a hand crank and read it off the scale, while forward and reverse feed is achieved smoothly by moving the roller-mounted saw head. Both models have a manual valve blade cleaning system and a blade tensioning system based on a screw with indicator. A reliable guide roller system ensures blade stability, similar to those used on larger Wood-Mizer saws.

The recommended blades are 32 mm wide, between 0.9 and 1.14 mm thick and 3340 mm long, allowing efficient production of material with minimal waste sawdust.
