Outdoor durability for up to 20 years with the Estetik range of wood oils from Deposib

Deposib, the Sibiu-based company known for Bochemit wood treatments, proposes to the Romanian market a restructured Estetik range, to which new and resistant wood finishing products are added. While until now these products were recognized for their quality, the new Estetik line comes with significant improvements, both in terms of range structure and product performance. They are designed for specific uses and provide outstanding durability, all based on high quality synthetic oils that offer long-lasting protection and ease of maintenance.

As oils, their main advantages are that they don't crack over time, they don't flake, and the finish can be refinished without having to remove the old coat. Estetik range includes products tailored to different needs, from exterior lacquers with up to 20-year durability to floor varnishes or solutions for vintage-look finishes.

Estetik Profi - Outdoor protection for up to 20 years

A benchmark of the new range is Estetik Profi, a synthetic oil-based varnish for both indoor and outdoor use. The novelty here is its outdoor resistance of up to 20 years, the highest on the market. The long-lasting resistance has been attested by SYNPO, an accredited laboratory in the Czech Republic, with test no. 360/047 published on 10.03.2021. The product is ideal for protecting wooden elements exposed to extreme conditions such as UV rays, rain or temperature fluctuations. Its advanced formula creates a flexible protective coating that allows wood to vary dimensionally without cracking.

Several conditions must be met to be sure that this durability is achieved. First of all, the product must be applied on clean, properly sanded wood with a maximum humidity of 14%. Apply the first coat in excess so that the wood absorbs as much of the product as possible. After 15-20 minutes, remove the unabsorbed product remaining on the surface. If the surface has a damp appearance and a wet look one hour after application, we are sure that the application has been done correctly. Subsequent coats can be applied 6-16 hours after the first coat. Dries completely after min. 24 hours, depending on environmental conditions. High humidity may prolong drying time.

Apply 1-2 coats for indoors and 2-3 coats for outdoor products (log cabins, cladding, garden furniture, pergolas, fences). To achieve 20 years outdoor resistance, 3 coats are recommended. After the first coat a light sanding is recommended to obtain a smooth and pleasantly textured finish. The product is available in 4 colors - walnut, oak, teak and rosewood.

Estetik Decking&Terrace - Colored varnish for terraces and decks

Terraces and decks need extra strength compared to other outdoor applications. In addition to water and UV rays, they are also subject to abrasion from traffic. For such wooden surfaces the new range includes Estetik Decking&Terrace. It is a colored varnish based on synthetic oil and urethane that provides high resistance to wear and maintains the natural look of wood. The product protects against moisture and stains and is recommended for use in high-traffic areas that are also exposed to the elements.

As an oil, the product penetrates deep into the wood to protect it and bring out its natural beauty. The presence of urethane in the composition increases abrasion resistance. It can be applied to both interior and exterior wood products. The final appearance is semi-matt, semi-transparent and colored with nanopigments dispersed in the mixture which act as a UV filter. To ensure the resistance of terraces and decks, 2-3 coats of varnish are recommended. It is applied in the same way as exterior lacquer.

Estetik Floor - Durability for interior floors

Wood used in flooring needs extra protection to withstand daily use. Estetik Floor is a varnish specially developed for this purpose, offering very good scratch and abrasion resistance. The product is colorless preserving the natural beauty of the wood, while the protective coating adds extra durability and ease of cleaning.

In order to have high mechanical resistance, the synthetic oil also contains urethane resin. Estetik Floor varnish is colorless and semi-matt. It is applied in the same way as the above products. It can also be applied to other wood products, thus ensuring their resistance to mechanical action as well as to moisture and dirt. For exterior use it can only be applied over Estetik products containing pigments.

Estetik Vintage - Finishes with personality

For those who want a rustic look with character, the Estetik Vintage range is the ideal solution. The lacquers in this category give the wood a unique finish in shades of white or gray that enhance its natural texture. These products are ideal for projects with an antique look or for decor that combines classic style with modern accents.

Like the other products in the range, Estetik Vintage is synthetic oil based and has the ability to penetrate deep into the wood, providing very good resistance to water and moisture. The nanopigments in the composition behave like a UV filter and thus resistance to the sun's rays is ensured. Available colors are white and grey.

Estetik Classic - Traditional outdoor protection

The Estetik Classic range is used for the protection of interior and exterior wooden elements. They are synthetic oil-based varnishes that have the ability to penetrate deep into the wood for the best possible protection against moisture. Resistance to the sun's rays is ensured by the inorganic nanopigments in the composition which act as a UV filter. The pigments also give the color to the varnishes, available in walnut, oak, chestnut, pine, teak, rosewood and rosewood.

As with other products, application is simple and maintenance easy. The film doesn't crack or flake, and if re-coating is needed, the old coat doesn't have to be removed. A light sanding is all that is needed and then apply the new coat.

Synthetic oils - durable and easy to maintain

All the products in the Estetik range are based on hard-wearing synthetic oils with high moisture protection properties. Unlike other protection products, they do not crack over time and do not require laborious processes to remove the old coating for reconditioning. This feature makes them very practical and economical in the long term.

The oils and varnishes in the Estetik range are perfectly compatible with Bochemit biocidal products. For wooden elements used outdoors, it is recommended to initially treat with preventive products such as Bochemit QB Hobby or Bochemit Opti F+t. This ensures that the wood is resistant to attack by insects, fungi or mold.

Being oils, residues and products used for application (rags, sponges) must be disposed of carefully. Solvents for oils, whatever their nature, are in the range of those derived from petroleum and present the risk of self-ignition under certain conditions. It is therefore recommended to store them in metal containers with water.
