German woodworking CNC equipment manufacturer Hundegger has announced the establishment of a US subsidiary called Hundegger Inc. based in North Carolina, according to a Press release published by the company on LinkedIn.
The new entity is to provide faster access to parts, increased service capability and direct local technical support for customers in North America, the company said. Further details on the size of the investment or number of employees were not disclosed.
Hundegger has been active for over 40 years in the field of CNC technology for timber construction and component manufacturing. The German company manufactures automated machining equipment for solid wood and industrialized wood products. The decision to establish a direct presence in the USA comes against the backdrop of the expansion of the timber construction sector in the North American market.
Trends in the Woodworking Industry
The North American woodworking equipment market is going through a period of modernization with the increasing adoption of digital manufacturing systems and industrialized wood products in commercial and residential construction projects.
The integration between design software and manufacturing equipment creates opportunities for specialized machine builders capable of directly executing digital manufacturing files. Manufacturing facilities are increasingly required to process prefabricated components to tight tolerances and ensure quality consistency.
Hundegger has indicated that it will communicate through the new subsidiary updates on systems, projects implemented and ways in which the company's technology contributes to increased productivity in wood component manufacturing.
