Throughout our evolution from protozoa to the internet-absorbed biped you know all too well, our organisms have adapted to the environmental conditions in which they have found themselves. The diversity to which we are exposed today is due to man's aspiration for a better life, which he has achieved through nomadic activities.
Technological evolution has made it possible for us not to stray too far from our native place, but biologically, after millions of years of evolution, we still retain this genetic code that urges us to explore.
Over the past 10 years I have been fortunate enough to travel almost the entire circumference of the Earth, and each time I have taken an item out of my luggage to optimize it. The last 4 years spent in Shanghai have driven me to look for solutions to the problem of moving from here to there, keeping the comfort level high with maximum transportation efficiency.
Today (almost 1 year after its launch) I am pleased to present you the designer's work Stefan Juust. It's called "The Travel Box" (adapted translation - the nomad's box) and it could cover the needs of any traveler.
The box consists of wood and aluminum, encased in a metal "shirt". It weighs 60kg and occupies a volume of approx. 2 cubic meters (4m x 1.2m x 0.4m).
"Instead of buying furniture new at every destination - an expensive and environmentally unfriendly approach - The Travel Box emphasizes quality, familiarity and reusability. Throughout its lifetime, the box will bear the traces of the places it has been and become an essential part of the journey" (Stefan Joust)
