Mirrors used for decoration and furnishing

The mirror has never just been used to see if you look good when you leave the house or to touch up your make-up. In the past, large, imposing mirrors decorated castles and palaces, adding a touch of glitz and elegance. The Hall of Mirrors in Peles Castle is a good example. Nowadays, designers and architects use it in home decoration to create a sense of space, personalize and beautify. When wood-framed mirrors appear in the decor, the sparkle blends with the warmth, nobility and elegance of wood.

Mirrors can define the style of interior design

Mirrors used for decorating and furnishing can help define the style of a space. A simple arrangement of mirrors on a wall tells us we're in a modern, youthful space, while a wide wooden frame paired with a heavy, aged-looking solid wood table tells us that the home's inhabitants love the rustic, simple look.

Want a glamorous look for your home? A high gloss black chest of drawers combined with a mirror with a similarly finished frame will do the trick. Fans of old fashion or classic style don't need to fill their home with all sorts of old, heavy furniture. A classic-style framed mirror can do the job.

In many interior designs, mirrors are used to give a feeling of space. Large mirrors that cover a large part of the wall reflect the space, giving the viewer the feeling that they are in a much larger space. It's a common subterfuge in living, dining, hallways or bathrooms. For a small investment, it adds a touch of comfort.

The combination of a modern or classic wall coffee table and a mirror above it is very common in interior decoration. Matching the finish of the table and the mirror frame can create a beautiful, useful and elegant place in the entrance hall, living room or other corner of the home.

I was saying at a given time that tables made from a 'slice' of solid wood, finished as simply as possible, are all the rage. Mirrors are also keeping up with fashion, so if you opt for a table like this, it won't be difficult to complete your decor by combining it with a mirror with a similar frame. But it doesn't always have to be combined with another element to find its place in a space. A special shape, a special frame, make the mirror a highly appreciated decorative element and it can successfully replace other wall decorations: photos, posters, paintings.

Mirrors make it easy to personalize your space. A well-chosen frame will also highlight your other specific decor, enhance and enrich the place. If you're not convinced, the examples below are sure to help.

By no means do I claim to have covered all the possibilities of decorating with mirrors, not even those with wood-framed mirrors. I just wanted to highlight the plus points of such arrangements. And the more mirrors there are, the greater the chance of getting an answer to the question: mirror, mirror on the wall... (Mirror, mirror on the wall...)? 🙂
