Wood-Mizer launches Vortex bandsaw blade with sawdust removal

Wood-Mizer, the world's leading manufacturer of portable bandsaws, introduces the innovative Vortex saw-saw-strap with sawdust removal. Now available, Wood-Mizer's new Vortex saw blade is designed for customers who need boards without excess sawdust.

The Vortex cloth removes sawdust while cutting to minimize or eliminate the need for sawdust removal after wood processing. This unique cloth profile has produced positive results in tests in high production pallet mills and under normal cutting conditions.

Vortex produces cleaner planks and edges. Vortex also makes a smoother and easier cut in softwoods and hardwoods such as spruce, oak and ash, which other blades have struggled to cut.

Pallet manufacturer Jeff Coomer of US firm Coomer & Sons Sawmill tested the blade and says: "The Vortex blade removed 98 to 99% of sawdust and it was impressive how much sawdust it removed compared to a typical saw blade."
