Wood-Mizer launches Vortex bandsaw blade with sawdust removal

Wood-Mizer, the world's leading manufacturer of portable band saws, introduces the innovative Vortex sawmill saw blade with sawdust removal. Now available, Wood-Mizer's new Vortex cloth is designed for customers who need planks without excess sawdust.

The Vortex blade removes sawdust while cutting to minimize or eliminate the need for sawdust removal after wood processing. This unique cloth profile has produced positive results in tests conducted in high production pallet mills and under normal cutting conditions.

The Vortex cloth produces cleaner planks and edges. The Vortex blade also makes a smoother and easier cut on softwoods and hardwoods such as spruce, oak and ash, which other blades have struggled to cut.

Pallet manufacturer Jeff Coomer of the American firm Coomer & Sons Sawmill tested the blade and says: "The Vortex blade removed 98 to 99% of sawdust and it was impressive how much sawdust it removed compared to a typical saw blade."
