Furniture accessories make the difference

I am convinced that not only women know that accessories can make the difference between a banal outfit and a great one. A simple blouse or shirt, a dull color, can be brought out of anonymity with well-chosen, quality accessories. The same goes for furniture or other objects made of wood or wood-based panels. A simple piece of furniture Painted MDF or a veneered straight door will gain personality with an inspired choice of accessories.

Accessories used in the wood industry are very varied. There are handles and knobs for drawers, hinges and knobs for access doors or furniture doors, but also various sophisticated devices that make hard-to-reach cupboard spaces not so "inaccessible", drawers can be opened by simply pressing on the drawer front or cupboard interiors can be better organized.

Handles, knobs, knobs, latches and closing devices are the most visible. They can make an ordinary framed door look like it belongs in an old piece of furniture or, on the contrary, part of a modern piece of furniture.

There is so much choice, so much diversity on offer, that sometimes it can take days to decide what goes best with your new furniture. From shapes as diverse as possible, to modern colors and innovative materials, everything is designed to best match and personalize your furniture.

It is good to know, however, that not every piece of furniture can be transformed from new to old and vice versa simply by changing the hardware. It is a method that works very well with simple panels, classic finishes, without elements that already position the furniture in one current or another. In such cases choosing accessories that are out of keeping with the design or finish does indeed transform the furniture, but not in the good sense of the idea of change.

Accessories are also hinges, drawer guides, modern closing-opening systems or those that allow the organization of cabinets and drawers. The quality of the furniture also depends not only on the workmanship and finish of the wood and the surfaces. Their choice can make the furniture much more functional and fortunately there is a very rich offer of such systems and accessories.

I find the most spectacular are the ones that make it possible to access tight or hard-to-reach spaces. Perhaps because I have such a space at kitchen furniture and when I made the furniture I didn't know about them or maybe the offer on the market was not as modern and diversified as it is now. I find it incredible how easily I could reach the objects stored there using such an accessory and how difficult, almost impossible, it is now.

Those of you who follow the magazine's posts know that I'm a big fan of old-looking furniture, but also rustic-looking furniture. The other day a post was published with some tips on finishing this type of furniture. I'll add one more, but it's about accessories. The drawers of rustic furniture do not need special guides. A piece of rustic furniture must have a drawer placed directly in its drawer box. A simple, sliding opening of such a drawer does not suit this kind of furniture at all. It is important to "hear" the wood when you open the drawer.

The world of accessories is vast and diverse. Both those with the most sophisticated design requirements and those who want systems and solutions for the most functional and ergonomic furniture can find what they want. Distributors also offer advice to make the choice easier. The advice doesn't stop with the end customer who wants to give their furniture a new look by changing the knobs. It continues with business partners, it is a complex service, offered in a business to business relationship, which helps furniture manufacturers to make the best choices, both in terms of aesthetics and functionality, and price.
