Wood-Mizer launches new WB2000 saw model in two versions

In 2016, Wood-Mizer's new WB2000 wide band saw WB2000 was successfully installed on six continents. In 2018, the saw is available in two versions (PRO and ECONOMIC), has a new look and has been added to the recently acquired TITAN range of band saws.

The new PRO and ECONOMIC versions extend versatility and are more cost-effective to meet the varied needs of woodworking companies everywhere. The WB2000 model can be used as a main log sawing saw or in addition to existing equipment to more efficiently process irregular logs and customer orders. Thanks to the variety of hydraulic equipment and bed lengths, the saw is very versatile and can cut soft, hard and tropical logs with large diameter and lengths from 2.4 to 12 m.

The WB2000 features a rugged, heavy-duty construction with low maintenance requirements and efficient operation. The WB2000 uses either 75 mm wide band saw blades or 100 mm stellite-tipped blades. When using 75 mm blades, the saw is especially efficient in terms of blade maintenance costs.

The heavy-duty saw bed has a capacity of up to 6 tons. All log-handling devices - such as log clamps, chain sprocket, drive rollers, side supports and grapple clamps - are modular and can be moved to different positions on the bed as needed. Different hydraulic fittings are available with varying resistance.

To ensure the best visibility of the log cutting and handling processes, the WB2000 is equipped with a video monitoring system (two cameras are standard on saws sold in EC regions). Up to four cameras can be mounted on the saw, and the video images are tracked on a screen in the operator station. This makes it possible for the operator to observe the entire sawing process.

WB20000 PRO

The PRO version of the saw utilizes an automatic PLC parameter setting system (Setworks). The 12-inch touchscreen displays various parameters such as material size, current cutting head height, feed position and main motor power consumption. To adjust these parameters, the operator simply uses the touch screen to enter the new settings.

The raised platform includes the operator's seat and two joystick controls. An air-conditioned operator cab is available as an option.

WB2000 EC

The EC (ECONOMIC) version utilizes a 5.7-inch touchscreen with the latest version of the PLC3 Setworks SW PLC3 parameter setting system. The operator station is equipped with an integrated control panel. All functions of the cutting head are controlled by the operator and hydraulic functions are adjusted with the joystick.
