Awarded in 2020 at major design competitions in Australia and Japan, Hettich's Wingline L folding door system Wingline L has recently been added to the Hettich portfolio Accessory Group. Easy to install and use, with cushioned opening, the Wingline L system allows the adoption of modern design variants that are equally functional and aesthetic. It is sturdy and reliable, doors of remarkable size and weight can be opened with just a light push.
Simple opening and lots of other benefits
Wingline L enables manufacturers of wood panel furniture and derivatives to offer customers modern, comfortable and easy-to-use cabinets. The simple push-to-open mechanism, also called Push to move, allows immediate access to the interior and maximum visibility of the contents of the cabinet. Opening is cushioned, the doors folding like a bird's wings. The rolling system is easily fixed and no tools are needed to install the doors. Wingline is silent yet robust, allowing doors weighing up to 25 kg and up to 2400 mm high to roll.
The push-to-open system eliminates handles, reducing the space needed for installation and operation. Wingline L allows access to the cabinet by simply pushing and pushing the doors, which fold like wings on either side, allowing a panoramic view of the interior. For smaller cupboards, such as kitchen cabinets, there is no need to install symmetrical doors, as the system also works with just one door.
The Wingline L is ideal when access to the locker is difficult and the space is tight. Where large doors can't open freely, where ordinary systems don't provide the desired visibility, Wingline L comes to the manufacturer's aid, helping to meet the customer's needs without compromising on design requirements. It is a very robust and durable system, tested to withstand a minimum of 40,000 openings.
The system can be used for clothes cupboards as well as kitchen and office cupboards
The advantages of Wingline L stem from the fact that the doors are push-open, without handles that increase the required space, from their folding and smooth, cushioned movement on the tracks, making tall and heavy doors open with the greatest of ease. That's why the doors become a natural choice for fitting to generous walk-in wardrobes, but also to cupboards under staircases, those built into hidden recesses, corner or kitchen tops. These cupboards will gain in functionality and access will become much easier.
Thanks to the Wingline L system, hidden or hard-to-access and therefore unused spaces can become storage spaces. Spaces in the attic, under sloping ceilings, under stairs or in the corners of kitchens can become spaces that are used every day because access to their contents is made very easy. Also, top-mounted cupboards now become accessible just by pressing the corner of the door. The generous opening makes it possible to see the entire contents, immediately discovering whether the item you are looking for is there or not.
The system is equally useful for office furniture. Here, where a lot of storage space is needed, hard-to-reach places can be used. Access to cupboards with Wingline doors will reduce the opening space required compared to ordinary doors, leaving more room for other activities and reducing the feeling of crowding.

"Wingline L is ideal when access to the locker in question is difficult and the place tighter...."
Then use sliding doors: they don't take up space (folding ones - YES!) and they don't use electricity, mechanics, etc, which sooner or later leads to breakdowns.
But, (masked) advertising be damned!

Hello,
Thank you for your message and for the opportunity to elaborate on the issues you raise.
Although functionally serving the same purpose, sliding and folding door systems are distinct. The right solution is chosen according to the context - the user's needs and preferences, the space available, etc.
For example, the WingLine L is chosen for corner furniture units, offering access to storage space that other solutions do not. Users also have visibility and access to the entire contents of the cabinet, up to almost 6 square metres. Sliding doors provide access to a maximum of half of the wardrobe (in the case of 2-door units) and a maximum of one third (in the case of 3-door units). However, unlike sliding doors, it is not recommended to mount Wingline close to other furniture (bed, chest of drawers, etc.), as the doors need space to open.
In terms of reliability, the Wingline has a manufacturer-guaranteed functionality for 40,000 cycles and does not use any power sources.
The good ones,
