  • nZEB Expo 2024: A resounding success in Bucharest - Romania's most dynamic and interactive energy-efficient building fair recently concluded its 2024 edition in Bucharest. Organised by șoflete.ro, The Concept and Event Builder, nZEB EXPO proved that trade fairs remain relevant when they offer an up-to-date and interactive concept. With over 100 exhibitors, 3 conference stages and interactive workshops, the event attracted an impressive number of well-informed visitors. Timber home builders unanimously agreed that it was the most successful fair they had attended. [link]
  • ATAAustrian timber industry calls for sustainable forest management - The Austrian Timber Industry Association recently signed the "Charter for Independent Forest Management in Austria". The initiative aims to promote sustainable and independent forest management in the context of EU policy initiatives that could restrict the use of wood as a sustainable resource. The industry expects a change of direction in the European Green Pact after the European Parliament elections [link]
  • Emanuele Orsini (President of Confindustria) and Enrico Aureli (President of Acimall)ACIMALL joins new federation "CONFINDUSTRIA MACCHINE" - Members of ACIMALL, the Italian association of technology manufacturers for the wood and furniture industry, have voted unanimously to create a new federation alongside three other machinery industry associations. The new entity will represent some 1,300 Italian companies with 70,000 employees and a total turnover of €19 billion [ [link]
  • spoga+gafa 2024 confirms its position as a global leader in the garden industry - The world's largest trade fair for the garden and BBQ sector, spoga+gafa, attracted around 28,000 trade visitors from 113 countries. With over 1,800 exhibitors from 66 countries, the event reconfirmed its status as the leading global platform for the industry. [link]

 

  • German woodworking machinery industry remains optimistic - Despite declines in production and exports, members of the VDMA woodworking machinery association are optimistic about the future. Macro trends of sustainability and decarbonisation continue to drive demand, and the industry is adapting through innovation and closer cooperation between European manufacturers. [link]
  • Hiteco expands production and research capacity - Italian company Hiteco, specialising in high-tech mechatronic components, has opened a new production facility in Rimini. This investment will triple the available space and allow a significant expansion of the range of products and services, with a focus on innovation and the development of new digital services.
