Woodworking equipment industry merger: AriVisland and Milltech join forces

In a strategic move, the Swedish companies AriVislanda and Milltech, two leading names in sawmill equipment and solutions, have announced their merger into a single entity. This merger is scheduled to be finalized in the fall of 2024.

Key details of the merger:

  • The new company will operate under the name AriVislanda, while retaining the Milltech brand for automation solutions and control systems.
  • The merger will strengthen the company's ability to offer complete and competitive solutions, from log sorting to ready-to-deliver timber packaging.
  • All the existing offices of both companies will be retained, including offices in Vislanda, Örnsköldsvik, Växjö and Vimmerby.
  • All current employees will be integrated into the new organizational structure.

Impact on customers and industry

Existing customers of both companies have been assured that the merger will not adversely affect the services they currently enjoy. On the contrary, significant improvements are expected in the long term:

  1. Ongoing support: AriVislanda is committed to continue support and updates for existing Milltech systems.
  2. Integrated solutions: Combining the expertise of the two companies will enable the development of more complex and better integrated solutions for the entire production flow of sawmills.
  3. Accelerated innovation: The pooling of research and development resources promises to accelerate innovation in automating and optimizing timber production.

A rich history, a promising future

With roots dating back to 1918 for AriVisland and 2002 for Milltech, the new entity combines long-standing experience in the production of equipment for sawmills with leading expertise in automation and control systems.

This merger is a natural step in our evolution"says a company representative. "By combining the strengths of AriVislanda and Milltech, we are now better positioned than ever to meet the industry's future challenges and help drive our customers' profitability."

Global perspective

As part of the group Storskogen - with a presence in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland, Singapore and the UK - the new AriVisland will benefit from an expanded international presence and additional resources for development and innovation. This strategic positioning promises to bring significant benefits to customers around the world, while reinforcing the company's position as a global leader in providing complete solutions for the woodworking industry.
