Wood-Mizer presented new ribbon saws at the Open Days in Kolo

The Open Days 2024 event held at the Wood-Mizer headquarters in the Polish city of Koło is always appreciated by both professionals and woodworking enthusiasts. This event provides an excellent opportunity to see new product launches, stay up-to-date with current trends in the wood industry and receive expert technical advice. This year was no exception, with attendees enjoying the unveiling of new machine models, mobile equipment and saw line updates.

Full hydraulics, functionality and satisfaction: the LT20START saw

In early 2024, the saw was launched LT20START, which combines advanced technology with practical solutions to deliver exceptional wood cutting quality without significant investment. The LT20START can process logs up to 80 cm in diameter and 6.1 m in length, with a full hydraulic system that ensures quick and easy log handling. This hydraulic package includes three side supports, a center clamp, a rotator, two balancing supports and loading arms. In addition, the saw has an automatic cutting height adjuster to further streamline operator workflow. The LT20START meets the demands of the market by offering everything woodworking professionals are looking for.

LX50 Series compact saws soon available in mobile versions

The LX50 Series is Wood-Mizer's most affordable option for automated processing of logs into lumber. Their success comes from the combination of simple design and Wood-Mizer's bandsaw construction solutions, renowned for quality and durability. Models LX50START and LX50SUPER are ideal for novice bandsaw operators and hobbyists who need efficient and accurate wood cutting for personal use. During the customer meeting, a prototype of the LX50 mobile bandsaw was unveiled, making it an even more appealing tool for small businesses and individual users who need wood-cutting capabilities in different locations.

World's first battery-powered saw

Wood-Mizer will soon be adding the LT15 lithium-ion battery-powered saw to its product range. This innovation responds to the growing interest in cordless tools, devices and electric vehicles. Rechargeable batteries offer convenience, high performance and reliability and can be charged using renewable energy sources such as photovoltaic panels. The LT15 can run up to 8 hours on a single battery and the batteries recharge quickly and efficiently with the included charger. More information about this new product will be available soon in the company's official press releases and social media channels.

Launch of the Wood-Mizer EG300 Mobile and EG350 Wood-Mizer EG300 and EG350

One way to increase productivity in a bandsaw business is to expand the shop with additional machinery, such as a circular or multi-blade saw. Wood-Mizer will soon be offering two new machines: mobile versions of the EG300 and EG350 circulars, the latter of which can handle larger materials.

The EG300 mobile circular is designed on the renowned stationary version and offers the same processing parameters. The main differences include the addition of a chassis with a foldable tow hook, an ergonomic foldable control panel, a fold-up output table, stabilizing stands and a tool box.

The EG350 stationary circular has a similar design to the EG300, but can process materials up to 550 mm wide and 100 mm high. This machine is designed for operators who appreciate the features of the circular EG300 but need the ability to process larger materials.

Launch of the new MR250 Industrial double arbor multi-blade saw

The MR250 multi-blade saw continues the series started by the MR200 and is recommended for use in high performance industrial cutting lines. This machine can process prisms up to 650 mm wide and 250 mm high, using a total of 32 circular saw blades on two shafts. The circular saw blades used on the MR250 can have diameters of 300, 350 or 400 mm. The MR250 multi-blade saw is powered by two 55 kW motors, but there is also the option of using 2x 22 kW or 2x 75 kW motors.

The material feed is electric (up to 25 m/min) and is automatically controlled according to the motor load. To meet the high efficiency of the machine (14-15 m³ of material per hour), the electric feed system is also used for the feed and discharge tables. The MR250 is operated from a control panel, which allows the control and operation of all machine functions (including electrical spindle adjustment).

Industrial cutting lines in new configurations - more efficient than ever

Traditionally, cutting lines with industrial bandsaw saws and auxiliary devices such as multi-blade saws, sorting tables, loading ramps, etc., attract great interest. The most notable innovation has been the use of 120 mm wide band saw blades with satellite teeth in the WB2000 saw. This new configuration allows greater processing efficiency and offers greater benefits for larger operators. In addition, for the first time, the WB2000 incorporates servomotors for head up/down to improve the precision of movement and increase speed.

The innovations presented at the customer meeting will soon appear in the Wood-Mizer product catalog. Sign up for the Wood-Mizer e-newsletter or follow on social media to find out about new saw model launches in your market area.
