DOMOTEX 2026: A new vision for the flooring and interior finishing industry

The international fair expands its concept to include interior finishing, becoming a complete hub for professionals in the field

DOMOTEX, the international trade fair dedicated to flooring, announces a significant change of concept starting with the 2026 edition. Under the new name "Home of Flooring and Interior Finishing", the event is expanding its portfolio to include interior finishing, offering a holistic approach to interior design.

Six new product categories

In addition to the traditional flooring sectors, DOMOTEX is diversifying its offer by adding six new product categories:

• Ceramic tiles
• Wall and ceiling elements
• Paints and coatings
• Wallpaper
• Outdoor flooring
• Sun protection and shading

"Flooring is our DNA - and in 2026 we will be showcasing it with an even broader offering. With our new concept, we respond to the evolving demands of the market and create synergies between all areas. DOMOTEX becomes a one-stop shop for all interested parties - from retail and trade to craftsmen and architects", explains Sonia Wedell-Castellano, the fair's representative.

Special formats and new participation opportunities

DOMOTEX not only expands its themes, but also introduces customized formats for exhibitors and visitors:

• Wall & Color Park: It brings together international manufacturers of paints, coatings and wallpaper with key target groups from trade, craft and architecture.
• Retailers Park: A proven format that gives retailers and specialty stores a platform to discover new products and trends.
• Tiles PlazaLocated in Hall 22, this space will offer for the first time a stage dedicated to ceramic tiles at DOMOTEX.
• Architects Space: A point of interest for manufacturers targeting architects.
• DIY Boulevard: Showcasing products designed specifically for the DIY and DIY market.

In addition to the Green Collection, highlighting sustainable materials, the new Acoustics special exhibition will showcase innovative solutions for optimal room acoustics, with modern materials and practical applications for architecture, planning and craftsmanship.

The formats will be complemented by Mood Spaces, offering immersive trend experiences, as well as the Carpet Design Awards, which recognizes outstanding hand-crafted rugs.

New calendar and biennial cycle

Starting in 2026, DOMOTEX will take place every two years, a cycle that better aligns with the specific needs of the flooring sector, allowing for improved planning and a stronger focus on innovation. The next event is scheduled for January 19-22, 2026, at the Hannover Exhibition Center.

For the first time, DOMOTEX will run Monday through Thursday, a deliberate change based on feedback from exhibitors and visitors. While weekends have historically been important for the retail sector, market structures and work-life balance have evolved significantly.
