KDT at BIFE-SIM 2025: Complete technology for the Romanian furniture industry

I'm on a short circuit around the country with the intention of gathering information to promote BIFE-SIM 2025. The roads also take me to Comănești, where Ciprian Iacob from KDT Machinery Romania he greets me with the same enthusiasm as always, this time with concrete plans for the September fair. In the discussion we have, the picture is emerging of a presentation that will cover the full range of needs of a modern furniture factory.

Consolidation through strategic acquisitions

"KDT buys and buys," explains Ciprian. The most recent acquisition was the takeover of a Chinese manufacturer specializing in 5-axis CNC centers. "This integration allows us to offer even more complex solutions for furniture machining," he continues, referring in particular to parts with complicated geometries that require multi-sided machining.

Machine range for BIFE-SIM 2025

During the visit, Ciprian shows me the list of machines that will be presented at the fair:

Edgebanding machines:

KE-268JSA - compact machine combining industrial technology with dimensions suitable for medium-sized workshops. Processes 0.4-3.0 mm edges at speeds of 8-12 m/min, with pneumatic system for automatic switching between two different edge thicknesses.

KE-710 with return system - High production version with speeds up to 18 m/min and full servo adjustments. The two-motor corner bending system allows complete part finishing in a single pass.

CNC centers: from drilling to complex machining

KD-612KHSZ - 6-sided drilling center processes parts up to 1200×2800 mm using 47 spindles (12 horizontal and 35 vertical). Travel speeds of 140/90/50 m/min ensure high productivity for mass production of furniture.

KN-6410C - 4-axis machining center can mill from 5 parts without having to reposition the workpiece. Equipped with a 13.2 kW HSD spindle and 16-position tool magazine, it is suitable for furniture with complex designs.

KN-3710D with loading and unloading - The nesting solution for cutting, milling and drilling in one cycle. The 3100×2150 mm worktable and two Becker vacuum pumps of 5.5 kW each ensure secure clamping of materials. Automatic loading and unloading systems can increase productivity with the 20-30%.

Complementary solutions for integrated production

WG8C1 - cardboard box-making machine. "It may seem unusual at a furniture fair," admits Ciprian, "but it allows factories to produce their own packaging." With a throughput of 3-6 boxes per minute and the ability to work with cartons up to 2400mm wide, it gives complete control over packaging.

FP7 - The brush sander has 6 independent working units, each separately adjustable between 90-360 rpm. The integrated vacuum system ensures a clean working environment.

KS-832D - The pack-in-pack formatting circular processes materials up to 3100×3200 mm with ±0.1 mm accuracy. Travel speeds of up to 120 m/min and a 10 pneumatic clamp system ensure efficiency and accuracy.

The CAELUS brand: Western components

Ciprian tells me about the new CAELUS division, developed by a team of Australian engineers who have joined KDT. "It offers machines equipped with premium Western components for the segment that prefers this technological approach."

Market experience

In our conversation, Ciprian emphasizes that KDT Machinery Romania offers not only the machines, but also full technical support, from installation to maintenance and staff training. "We have mechanical engineers, technicians, CNC operators," he explains. "We offer all the necessary support."

The local market feedback he gives me confirms the reliability of KDT machines. "Existing customers come back for additional purchases," he tells me. "We have customers who are on their second, even third purchase. One customer increased production from 1-2 pieces per day to 16 pieces/day just by purchasing a KDT drilling center."

Preparing for BIFE-SIM 2025

"We have the machines here, we are ready to start assembling," explains Ciprian, explaining the plans for September.

I leave Comănești with the image of a company that has found the balance between advanced technology and affordable prices for the Romanian market. For the furniture industry in Romania, KDT represents access to world-leading technology, with full local support and at prices that allow profitable investments.

So I'm expecting you at BIFE-SIM 2025, from September 18-21 at Romexpo, to discover first-hand the latest technologies that can completely transform the efficiency of your workshop.
