Schattdecor presents a selection of global décor highlights that have the potential to become best sellers in the near future

In a press release last month, German company Schattdecor launched Decor Selection 2016. The launch of the collection was preceded by a year-long period of analyzing trends and a lot of research work.

During this period, Claudia Küchen's team, Head of Design at Schattdecor, filtered the essence of three current trends: Freestyle Clarity, Casual Black and Cultural Spirit.

"As designers and advisors, we are aware of our task to identify new trends, to analyze them and finally to be able to convey very clearly to our clients what is important to them. Decor Solution is a reliable delaration of current trends and offers our clients and partners a valuable guide as a reflection of the responsibility we feel towards them." said Claudia Küchen.

Shattdecor's research also gives us the opportunity to find out the characteristics of the three main trends and how they may influence the furniture designs of the coming years.

FREESTYLE CLARITY

It's about simplifying things down to their essence.
Freestyle Clarity is proof of the growing importance of simple and authentic. It's about simplifying things down to their essence - building more quality all around.
There is already very clear recognition of this in Germany, Russia and Poland.

The trend fits very well with the present, just like Scandinavian style furniture, with its bright colors and wood, very popular now. White frequently appears in combinations with black in graphic elements, patterns and graphic shapes in furniture.

In China, white symbolizes purity, innocence and cleanliness and is commonly used in combination with natural colored woods, warm copper tones and surfaces with distinct properties to the touch. It has another advantage: white makes the room bigger!
The obvious contrast between black and white is always in fashion and contributes to a tidy look.

Brightness and diversity define the Freestyle Clarity theme.

CASUAL BLACK

Urban, creative, modern, confident yet down to earth.
Casual Black is very fashionable and the most revolutionary and new of the 3 trends. It is very popular on the German and American market.

Schattdecor customers in Brazil confirm that the Casual Black trend is very popular in South America. It is already making inroads in Russia and Poland. In these countries, white - which we talked about in Freestyle Clarity - and bright furnishings are the most sought-after. Dark colors are now being used, especially for traditional furniture.

Casual Black is for a relaxed style that gives a feeling of good mood and comfort.

CULTURAL SPIRIT

The unique aspect of this theme is the influence of different cultures on a mix of materials and patterns. Borders between cultures are rapidly disappearing in the modern age of globalization.

Cultural Spirit takes design ideas from all cultures around the world. This trend is particularly popular in Italy, Poland and Turkey, where its effect is felt most - furniture is already being delivered in this style in warm color tones.

Customer reaction to this trend is very positive in Brazil too.

In an age of cultural interchange it is important and necessary to remember your roots. In this sense, Cultural Spirit conveys a sense of individuality.
