Frames and frames

I've always seen frames as the frame that enhances the painting, the mirror or the photos. I always chose them very carefully, I always looked for them to be as beautiful as possible, but I never thought that they could be the stars. At one point I needed a frame and knowing that I had some old frames in the attic, I thought I would try to adapt one of them for my project. So I brought them all up from the attic, dusted them all off and laid them on the table trying to pick the most suitable one. Looking at them I realized that nothing else was needed. They alone were enough to decorate the wall. From this idea I realized that the frames can be used in many different ways and I thought you might be interested too.

What you can do with old frames

They can be placed on the wall without framing a picture or photo. Several, in different shapes and sizes, in the same or matching colors, can decorate the walls of your living room or bedroom beautifully.

A frame can be used to frame the base of the chandelier, making it even more eye-catching.

An old frame and a wooden leg can make an elegant coffee table.

With handles instead of legs, it can be transformed into a serving tray.

Small frames can be used to enclose the heating or air conditioning control panel or switches.

By adding hanging hooks, the frame can be made into a holder for house or car keys, or a holder for bracelets and necklaces.

7 or 8 frames can be joined together and turned into a calendar to record weekly activities.

In the bathroom, the frames can do double duty - decoration and towel holder or they can be used to make a cosmetic shelf.

If you put 2-3 layers of cloth of various heights on a tabletop frame, you can turn it into a holder for pencils, pens, notes and other such things on your desk.

And I could go on with many more examples, but I think you get the idea. If you like a frame you can buy it even if you don't have a photo ready for framing. You can use it for another project. And old frames are not thrown away but kept for when you know how to use them.

  • Lots of ideas for future projects. I personally really liked the idea of the small legged table and the cosmetics shelf in the bathroom, so two more wonders to prepare. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • I love the way the frames look without the photos put on the wall! Thanks so much for the article! All the ideas are great
