We all love wood, but there's a popular idea that not all of us are good at combining different pieces of furniture in one room to get the arrangement as close as possible to what we want. In my view, such a theory does not hold water. Starting from a question I get very often, "How can I combine different pieces of furniture? pieces of furniture in a single room so that, in the end, I like the result?", I decided to help you with some tips, very easy to put into practice, by anyone. All it takes is a bit of daring and imagination. The living room will be the space in the house that will support my tips.
Choose a piece of furniture that stands out
Decide to highlight a particular piece of wooden furniture. For example, if you want to give prominence to a table, choose to position it in the centre of the dining room. If the wooden table is a dark shade, you can add some upholstered chairs in lighter tones. This will make the table the centrepiece and the chairs the support that will help it take pride of place in the dining room.
Combine different shades
If you chose to group a few pieces of darker wood furniture in one part of your living room, you could "mirror" a light brown sofa with two armchairs and a table in similar tones. In the end, you'll end up with a space with lots of wooden furniture in different shades that complement each other very well. You may decide to "tie" the pieces in the room together better with a rectangular rug in a lighter colour that covers much of the room.
Matches different pieces in similar shades
For a unique, beautiful and functionally efficient arrangement, you can combine two different pieces of furniture, but with similar colours. For example, you could fill a large part of the living room area with a sofa bed or a modular corner unit and add a rectangular table. If you want more length on one side of the sofa or nook, you can place a wooden and glass dresser. But make sure that the colour of the wooden frame of the chest of drawers is similar to the colour of the side of the sofa or corner table. You can tie it all together with a narrow, rectangular rug, or let the parquet floor serve as a base for the whole arrangement.
