Start-up Nation is the only non-reimbursable 100% program for companies established as of February 01, 2018. It is a program in which the age of the person who set up the firm is not important, but the fact that he/she did not have other firms or was not associated in other firms that received funding in the last 3 years. The firm and the associate must have no debts to the state or local budgets.

This year 10,000 newly established companies can receive a grant of 200,000 lei for economic activities that fall into various categories. These include "Production" and "Creative Industries", where those who want to work with wood and its derivatives can apply.

The evaluation of the application is based on points that are awarded for the fulfillment of various conditions. The minimum score is 50 points, but specialists recommend to reach 90 points to have a chance of approval, as applications far exceed the offer. For example, 40 points are awarded if the company will do manufacturing (most in this category) and 35 points for creative industries. For hiring 2 full-time workers you get 20 points and for hiring 2 unemployed or 2 graduates who finished high school after 2013 you get 25 points.

A very important condition is that at least 100.000 lei of the 50% must be used for the purchase of technological equipment. And if the 25% of these equipments are newer than 3 years old, a bonus of 5 points is received. The difference up to 200,000 lei can be used to pay salaries for one year, rent and utilities. You can also purchase computers, laptops, telephones, office furniture, cars, you can pay for the construction and promotion of a presentation website, each of these expenses has a ceiling not to be exceeded.
