KAM 792 IQ Lohmeyer - the machine for series and custom production

Grants enable entrepreneurs, even those just starting out, to buy the equipment that will enable them to be efficient and produce quality products. If you make furniture from derived panels and you're cutting large quantities of chipboard, you definitely need a canting machine. Such a machine is the Lohmeyer KAM 792 IQ, distributed by Danibrum, which we talked about this year at BIFE-SIM with Ionuț Soroceanu, technical director. But before we see the movie, let's take a look at some of the car's features.

KAM 792 IQ KAM 792 IQ, a new series based on the success of the KAM 780 IQ KAM

In 2017, Lohmeyer presented at LIGNA the KAM 780 IQ KAM 780 IQ casing machine, a model that proved to be a success in the immediate aftermath. The high demand coming from both customers and distributors prompted the manufacturing company to continue adding the latest technologies in the field, developing new series. The top of the range, the maximum optimization of the KAM 780 IQ, was presented at LIGNA 2019 under the name KAM 792 IQ.

The original aim of the KAM series of cartoning machines was to combine high feed speed with maximum flexibility.

The flexibility is due to the upper and lower surplus edge milling group. It consists of two milling groups that can be adjusted individually, with automatic changeover from one edge thickness to another. The KAM 792 IQ can therefore be used with 4 different thicknesses of edge.

Another improvement of this year's model, both at LIGNA and BIFE-SIM, is the pre-melt unit that ensures the optimum temperature of the adhesive at all times and protects it from burning. This makes bonding much faster and more efficient. The glue reservoir has a large capacity, allowing continuous use and the application of long cant lengths without interruption.

The feeding and feeding of the elements is very stable thanks to the double driven system with chain (lower) and V-belt (upper). At the corners the milling is driven by 4 different motors, greatly lightening the load on each motor. The feed speed is adjustable and 3 speeds can be preset from the touch-screen control panel. From the factory the machine comes with 3 preset speeds: 12, 20 and 24 m/min. The 24 m/min speed is only possible if corner rounding is not activated. In this case the speed can be max. 20 m/min.

Materials that can be used with the KAM 792 IQ cartoning machine

The machine can carry panels with or without pre-fretting. With pre-milling, the panels can be between 10 and 30 mm thick and at least 320 mm long. Without pre-fretting, the thickness is 10-60 mm and minimum length 120 mm. The minimum width of the panel may be 60 mm if the corners are not rounded and 130 mm if the corners are rounded. The minimum dimensions of the hinge elements may be 120 x 120 mm or 200 x 60 mm.

The edge can be 0.4 mm to 3 mm thick. If it is not pre-milled, its width can be between 15 and 65 mm. With pre-milling, the width is between 15 and 43 mm.

More information about the technical features of the KAM 792 IQ KAM 792 IQ can be found here here. In the movie below, Ionuț Soroceanu - Mr. Highas customers also call it - gives a very good overview of the machine's strengths and why you should consider the KAM 792IQ if you're looking for a car to drive.
