KAM 792 IQ Lohmeyer - the machine for series and custom production

Grants enable entrepreneurs, even those still in their early stages, to purchase machinery that allows them to be efficient and produce quality products. If you produce furniture from derived panels and you dispense large quantities of chipboard you definitely need a chip spreader. One such machine is the Lohmeyer KAM 792 IQ, distributed by Danibrum, which we talked about this year at BIFE-SIM with Ionuț Soroceanu, technical director. But before watching the film, let's find out a few features of the car.

The KAM 792 IQ machine, a new series based on the success of the KAM 780 IQ machine

In 2017, Lohmeyer presented the KAM 780 IQ machine at LIGNA, a model that proved to be a success in the immediate aftermath. The high demand coming from both customers and dealers prompted the manufacturing company to continue adding the latest technologies in the field, developing new series. The top of the range, the maximum optimization of the KAM 780 IQ model, was presented at LIGNA 2019 as the KAM 792 IQ.

The original aim of the KAM series of feeders was to combine high feed speed with maximum flexibility.

The flexibility is due to the upper and lower milling group of the cant overhang. It consists of two individually adjustable milling units, with automatic changeover from one edge thickness to another. Thus, the KAM 792 IQ can be used with 4 different edge thicknesses.

Another improvement of the model presented this year, both at LIGNA and BIFE-SIM, is the pre-cure unit that ensures the optimal temperature of the adhesive at all times and protects it against burning. This makes bonding much faster and more efficient. The adhesive tank has a large capacity, allowing continuous use and application of long lengths of adhesive without interruption.

The feeding and feed of the elements are very stable thanks to the double driven system with chain (lower) and V-belt (upper). At the corners, milling is driven by 4 different motors, making the load on each motor much lighter. The feed speed is adjustable and 3 speeds can be preset and operated from the touch-screen control panel. From the factory the machine comes with 3 preset speeds: 12, 20 and 24 m/min. The 24 m/min speed is only possible if corner rounding is not activated. In this case the speed can be max. 20 m/min.

Materials that can be used with the KAM 792 IQ

The machine can carry panels with or without pre-cooling. With pre-breaking, the panels can be between 10 and 30 mm thick and at least 320 mm long. Without pre-breaking, the thickness is 10-60 mm and the length minimum 120 mm. The minimum width of the panel may be 60 mm if the corners are not rounded and 130 mm if they are rounded. The minimum dimensions of the elements to be covered may be 120 x 120 mm or 200 x 60 mm.

The edge used can be from 0.4 mm to 3 mm thick. If no pre-breaking is done, its width can be between 15 and 65 mm. With pre-bending, the width is between 15 and 43 mm.

More information about the technical features of the KAM 792 IQ boring machine can be found at here. In the video below, Ionuț Soroceanu - high lord, as customers also call it - gives a good overview of the machine's strengths and why you should consider the KAM 792IQ if you're looking for a machine to tame.
