Thinking about efficiency? Discover the features and benefits of the TITAN line.
TITAN industrial equipment offers high-efficiency, simple design, low-cost cutting tools that can process wood without sorting and bark removal. Wood-Mizer's industrial lines have proven their success in limited workshop space and low energy consumption. There are several key benefits of TITAN equipment that enable profit generation and significantly improve efficiency at high processing volumes.
Wood-Mizer's industrial teams offer the service of implementing custom processing lines globally. High-volume wood processing projects can be developed quickly, thanks to the teams' global experience in design, fabrication and installation at customer sites.
Benefit 1. Large log diameter - up to 45 cm
The TITAN line can process logs up to 45 cm in diameter, compared to most competitors' lines with a maximum limit of 35 cm. Larger diameter logs are cheaper and more timber can be produced from a single log. Sawmill owners are always looking for ways to reduce production costs. The TITAN line makes these savings possible by processing larger and therefore cheaper logs.
Benefit 2. No need to sort logs
The TITAN line can process logs between 15 cm and 45 cm in diameter without pre-sorting. Without the sorting equipment there is no additional investment, the energy and personnel costs that would service this equipment are reduced, and the need for additional space where the sorting line is to be operated disappears.
Benefit 3. No need for log storage
As a result of the absence of log sorting equipment, the loading system of the TITAN line is designed to operate without log storage. Since the TITAN line can process up to 120 m3 of timber in an eight-hour shift, the daily log delivery can be 4 trucks of 30 m3 each. A truck arriving every 2 hours can be unloaded directly on the loading deck of the sawmill which can store up to 60 m3 of logs.
Benefit 4. No peeler required
Delivering massive savings in sorting, storage and production space, the TITAN line can also process shelled logs. This translates directly into savings in labor and energy costs, as well as saving the investment in a peeler.
Which saws are included in a TITAN line?
The TITAN line can be built in different configurations and can include vertical double saws, horizontal cross-cut saws, multi-blade circular saws and material transfer systems. The wide band saws use 75-150mm wide ribbon webs.
Wood-Mizer is improving the TITAN line for efficiency and growth, increasing cutting speed, reducing labor costs and building "smart" machines - by optimizing hydraulics and engine power to lower the cost of operating the equipment without compromising functionality.
Features of TITAN equipment
Below are some examples of TITAN saws:
- HR4000 and HR6000 horizontal slitting saws are produced in configurations with one or two cutting heads and offer the possibility to adjust the speed quickly according to the plank size within 0.3 seconds by using an electric servo motor system. These machines are capable of cutting more than 20 boards per minute (depending on board length) at a feed rate of 40 m/min. The saws use 100 mm or 150 mm wide ribbon saws with riveted or Stellite-tipped ribbing.
- Industrial circular EG800 / multi-lamp is equipped with 4 circular blades as standard, with the possibility to install additional blades. With 4 circular blades, the EG800 can process timber up to 40 mm thick at a feed speed of up to 60 m/min, or cut beams up to 100 mm thick at a lower feed speed. The feed speed is adjustable for the EG800 circular saw. It can be supplied with 30kW, 37kW, 45kW or 55kW motors.
- Optimized visual scanning systems can be applied to increase lumber yield and quality. Wood-Mizer TITAN EA3000 Optimization Circular uses advanced camera scanning technology to achieve high accuracy and low waste when edging boards. The entire trimming process is automated - from board feeding to scanning and cutting. The Circular can process up to 20 boards per minute.
Each Wood-Mizer TITAN line is designed to optimally meet specific customer requirements. This TITAN line installed at a wood-processing plant in Poland includes the TV6000 double vertical saw TV6000 with hydraulic log-turning equipment (1), a MR3000 multi-blade saw with prism centering table (2), a HR500 horizontal saw, a log deck (3), a board transfer deck (4), an operator platform (5), and a sawdust collector with conveyor belt (6) for the entire line.
