Last July we announced entry into the woodworking machinery market and derivative tiles of a new player. WoodMatic was bringing WDMAX, a brand of the KDT Machiery group developed for emerging markets, to Romania. KDT Machinery is a well-known Asian manufacturer of woodworking equipment, with manufacturing capabilities and R&D centres in both China and Europe. Now WoodMatic announces construction of new production capacity by KDT-WDMAX Group which will allow the number of machines manufactured to increase by 50%.

Growing demand for furniture manufacturing machinery has prompted the KDT-WDMAX Group to build additional production capacity in China's Guandzhou Economic Development Zone. This is also the site of the company's old headquarters and one of its factories, with two others in Chengdu in China and Rimini in Italy. In Italy is the Masterwood factory that KDT Machinery bought in 2018, benefiting from the Italian manufacturer's expertise in manufacturing computer-controlled equipment.

The new factory covers an area of 65,000 m², with an office area, R&D area and production area. In October 2020, the first manufacturing line producing CNC pack-forming circulars was commissioned. The factory will have two more lines, one for manufacturing drilling CNCs and the other for milling CNCs, which will start their operations at the end of January 2021. The new investment will bring a 50% increase in the number of machines manufactured by the Asian manufacturer.

The construction of the new capacity is part of a long-term development plan of the KDT-WDMAX group which aims at increasing productivity in each of the four production centres, but also at an advanced specialisation of each of them allowing innovation and the introduction of the most modern and intelligent technologies. As a result, only edgebanders will be produced at the old site in Guangzhou, while the Chengdu plant will be dedicated to moving table circulators, drilling machines and other conventional machines. The new factory, which will have its R&D centre next door, will be entirely dedicated to the development of intelligent computer-aided equipment for furniture manufacturing.

Woodmatic, a determined and sustained presence on the market

The KDT-WDMAX group's manufacturing and research capabilities will enable WoodMatic to take an even more assertive approach to the market. This was seen during Black Friday when The offer lasted one month and the discount granted was 25%. The long experience in the production of bathroom furniture and the very good relationship with the Chinese market were also elements that led to the confident approach of the manufacturers.

According to what has been stated, WoodMatic's ambition is to offer Romanian producersaccess to high technology through extremely affordable pricing. It boldly tackles solutions for large furniture factories in chipboard or MDF with the desire to contribute to the automation of production lines, to set up the most modern factories. It also offers solutions to increase the productivity of small workshops and factories.

The machines in the WoodMatic portfolio are those generally used for processing wood-based panels. The company offers complete, automated and computerised solutions for mills and technical assistance for their commissioning.
