Increasing the production capacity of KDT-WDMAX by commissioning the fourth plant

Last July we announced entering the woodworking machinery market and derivative boards from a new player. WoodMatic was bringing to Romania WDMAX, a KDT Machiery Group brand developed for emerging markets. KDT Machinery is a well-known Asian manufacturer of equipment for the woodworking industry, with production capabilities and R&D centers in both China and Europe. Now WoodMatic announces KDT-WDMAX Group to build new production capacity which will increase the number of machines manufactured by 501TPTP3T.

Growing demand for furniture-making machinery has prompted the KDT-WDMAX group to build another production capacity in China's Guandzhou economic development zone. This is where the company's old headquarters and one of its factories are located, with two others in Chengdu in China and Rimini in Italy. In Italy is the Masterwood factory that KDT Machinery bought in 2018, benefiting from the Italian manufacturer's expertise in making computer-controlled equipment.

The new factory covers an area of 65000 m² with office area, R&D area and production area. In October 2020, the first manufacturing line was commissioned, which produces CNC package-formatting circular CNC. The factory will have two more lines, one for manufacturing drilling CNCs and the other for milling CNCs, which will start operations at the end of January 2021. The new investment will bring a 501TPTP3T increase in the number of machines manufactured by the Asian manufacturer.

The construction of the new capacity is part of a long-term development plan of the KDT-WDMAX Group which aims to increase productivity in each of the four production centres, but also to further specialize them to allow innovation and the introduction of the most modern and intelligent technologies. As a result, only canting machines will be produced at the old Guangzhou site, while the Chengdu plant will be dedicated to moving table circular saws, drilling machines and other classic machines. The new factory, which will be joined by the R&D center, will be fully dedicated to the development of intelligent computer-aided equipment for furniture manufacturing.

Woodmatic, a determined and sustained market presence

The KDT-WDMAX Group's manufacturing and research capabilities will enable WoodMatic to approach the market even more decisively. We saw this during Black Friday when the offer lasted one month and the discount was 25%. The long experience in bathroom furniture production and the very good relationship with the Chinese market were also elements that led to the manufacturers' confident approach.

WoodMatic's stated ambition is to offer Romanian producersaccess to high technology through extremely affordable pricing. It boldly approaches solutions for large chipboard or MDF furniture factories with the desire to contribute to the automation of production lines, to set up factories as modern as possible. It also offers solutions to increase the productivity of small workshops and factories.

The machines in the WoodMatic portfolio are those generally used for processing wood-based panels. The company offers complete automated and computerized solutions for factories and technical support for their commissioning.
