With the launch of the LT20WIDE, Wood-Mizer has completed the implementation of the WIDE option for the entire LT range of bandsaws, which includes the LT15, LT20, LT40 and LT70 models.
The WIDE saw head has been developed to meet the growing demand for cutting large logs in the industry. With a wider saw head, the operator can cut large logs up to 90 cm in diameter. The WIDE saw head generates additional benefits in log cutting in urban areas and where large-diameter logs are cheaper and readily available.
The new LT20WIDE saw in mobile version was presented for the first time in France at the end of March 2023. Earlier this year, Wood-Mizer launched the LT15CLASSIC WIDE mobile bandsaw, also showcased at the Customer Days in France, so visitors could compare the features and benefits of both models.
While the LT15WIDE is built on a low segmented bed with manual log handling, the LT15WIDE The LT20WIDE features the classic Wood-Mizer cantilever head design and hydraulic bed functions. The LT20WIDE Mobile LT20WIDE can be supplied with log handling in 3 versions - manual, standard and super-hydraulic. The super-hydraulic version includes two vertical side supports, a center clamp on 2 rods, grapple clamps, a log rotator, log balancing rollers and a log loader. The sawmill owner can choose the configuration that best suits his productivity and budget requirements.
The new version of the LT20WIDE saw is available with 7.5kW, 11kW and 15kW electric motors, 25HP gasoline engine and 22HP or 25HP diesel engines.
With the standard Setworks SW10 automatic thickness adjuster, cutting becomes more convenient because the operator does not have to remember to set the thickness after each cut. The saw head is electrically moved up/down and forward/backward. Water in the reservoir provides lubrication directly on the blade to improve the cutting process. The electric guide arm keeps the blade supported while cutting materials of different sizes. The tension of the blade is easily adjustable and keeps the blade tensioned properly for cutting. An optional peeler helps keep the blade sharp for longer as it removes bark, dirt and stones from the log surface.
A portable ribbon saw can be transported to the forest, agricultural field or construction site where the user needs to cut logs. Transporting the saw with a pick-up truck is convenient, and preparing the machine for on-site work takes just a few minutes.
Wood-Mizer offers a 2-year warranty on all professional saws and premium service support.
