Weinig acquired 50% from Essetre

Weinig announced the acquisition of 501TPTP3T of Essetre shares in a press conference held in Milan on Monday, July 17, 2023, to which the Wood Magazine was invited. In this way, Essetre srl and Michael Weinig AG (Weinig) formalized the strategic alliance announced at Ligna 2023. The two companies will continue to develop together as equal partners.

Weinig and Essetre are very similar companies in terms of innovation and technology. This collaboration will bring value to both brands: Essetre will gain access to Weinig's sales and service network and Weinig will strengthen its market position. "With this partnership and access to Essetre's product portfolio, we are further strengthening our market position. We can now offer our customers the entire wood processing chain, from timber production to timber construction, completely from one source"said Gregor Baumbusch (CEO Weinig).

Essetre will continue to be run by the Sella family, we have been assured by both partners. Giovanni Sella, founder of Essetre: "We would not have done such a collaboration with any other partner. Weinig and Essetre represent market-leading technologies. We both have huge ambitions by combining our cutting-edge skills. We are confident that there will be strong and sustainable growth."

Weinig was founded in 1905 by Michael Weinig. Since 1947, the company has specialized in the development and production of woodworking machinery and equipment. In 2022, Weinig had worldwide sales of €586 million. The company employs 1,000 people at its headquarters in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, and about 2,500 worldwide. Gregor Baumbusch has been CEO of Weinig since 2018.

Essetre specializes in the wood construction and furniture industries. Founded in 1979 by Giovanni Sella as a family business, Essetre is based in Thiene, Vicenza province in Italy. Since then, Essetre has expanded its market to over 30 countries and has designed and manufactured over 1200 CNC woodworking machines.

In Romania, Essetre is represented by Ligna Dumi Tech, from Brasov.
