German Design Awards 2025: entries now open

The German Design Awards 2025 is an event that puts the spotlight on the most innovative design achievements from around the world. The competition, organised by the German Design Council, is aimed at companies, designers, architects and agencies from all over the world, providing a platform to showcase their innovative projects and increase their visibility on the global market.

This year, the German Design Awards introduces a new category: "Circular Design". It recognises innovative solutions that align with the goals of the circular economy, providing inspirational impetus for sustainable economic transformation. The international jury awards these outstanding achievements in three main categories: "Excellent Product Design", "Excellent Communications Design" and "Excellent Architecture".

Furthermore, to highlight developments in architecture through artificial intelligence and digital methods, designers and developers can showcase virtual projects, design and architecture in the new category "AI in Architecture and Metaverse Space Design".

The German Design Awards provide a platform to demonstrate design's contribution to the sustainable transformation of the economy. Whether we're talking about digitalisation, AI or circular design, the event focuses on the impact of products and services on our planet and society, highlighting sustainable and environmentally friendly design processes.

In addition to the visibility offered to the winners, the German Design Awards open doors to valuable networking, international access and market opportunities. The German Design Council has also entered into an exclusive partnership with American TV production "Europe ByDesign", giving the winners the opportunity to present their projects to the US market and to be broadcast on the American channel CBS and worldwide.

• Awards Gala:
  The German Design Awards will take place in early February 2025 in Frankfurt. The winners will be awarded at the event, which will be attended by guests from all over the world.

Founded in 1953 by decision of the Bundestag, the German Design Council is a global centre of expertise in design communication and knowledge transfer. The Council brings together more than 330 leading German companies.
