In a world increasingly geared towards energy efficiency and sustainable materials, the wood joinery industry continues to evolve, offering innovative solutions that combine tradition with modern technology. In a recent interview at the nZEB Expo (video at the end of the article), Bartha Levente, representing WoodSense, gave us an interesting insight into their product range and the strategic partnerships that keep them at the forefront of the industry.
WoodSense, which specializes in the production of laminated wood windows, offers two distinct profiles in 68 mm and 92 mm thickness, suitable for double and triple glazing. But what really sets the company apart is its collaboration with Janko Ablak from Hungary, a manufacturer with an impressive 37 years of experience in the industry.
"Our partner has been producing windows for 37 years and has a production capacity of 1000 windows per month," explains Levente. This collaboration allows WoodSense to offer its customers windows made of laminated wood with aluminum cladding on the exterior, thus combining the durability of aluminum with the natural warmth of wood.
A remarkable aspect of their offer is the range of certified profiles for passive houses. "We have a coplanar profile both inside and outside, with concealed sash and optionally we can also do with quadruple glazing," Levente mentions. This window can incorporate glass up to 62 mm thick, providing exceptional thermal insulation.
Diversity is another of the company's strengths. The windows are available in six different wood species: oak, eucalyptus, cherry, cherry, larch, pine and alder. Levente emphasizes the importance of using resinous wood as a base because of its superior thermal coefficient, which is then covered with hardwood for aesthetics.
In addition to windows, WoodSense offers shading systems from Austrian partner Schlotterer, including raffstore, shutters and zip screens. For architects, the company provides a cloud with full technical details, facilitating the design process.
The product range extends beyond windows to include wood or aluminum-clad wood entrance doors, curtain walls and laminated wood interior doors. This variety allows customers to find complete and harmonious solutions for their projects.
WoodSense and its partners demonstrate that the wood joinery industry continues to evolve, delivering products that not only meet, but exceed modern energy efficiency and design standards. By combining traditional woodworking expertise with advanced technologies and strategic partnerships, WoodSense positions itself as an innovative leader in its field.
