122 companies already registered for BIFE-SIM 2024. Is that a lot? A little?

BIFE-SIM 2024 is shaping up to be a promising event for the furniture industry in Romania, with 122 companies registered so far, according to the press release received from APMR. This number represents a positive evolution compared to previous editions. The Association of Romanian Furniture Manufacturers has done a good job in its effort to bring together a larger group of furniture manufacturers in the country.

The event is organized by Romexpo in strategic partnership with the Association of Romanian Furniture Manufacturers - APMR and the Romanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and will take place from 19 to 22 September 2024, in Pavilion B2, Romexpo, Bucharest.

BIFE-SIM 2024 brings to the forefront the recent successes of the Romanian furniture industry internationally. As mentioned in the press release, the "National Team of Furniture and Decoration Manufacturers", made up of 70 companies, has successfully represented Romania at trade fairs in Germany, UK, Italy, USA and UAE. These participations have contributed to the growth of Romanian furniture exports, which reached a value of over €2.54 billion last year.

BIFE-SIM 2024 will offer the opportunity to see the latest collections presented at these international fairs, now brought for the first time to Bucharest. The event will bring together not only furniture manufacturers, but also designers and distributors of accessories and machinery for the wood industry.

Dumitru Blaga, president of APMR, underlines the importance of this event: "We are meeting in Bucharest not only to present our collections or new products, to show our production capacities, to show our potential, but also to organize working events, meetings with responsible stakeholders, with representative people from our sector. We need to convince governments, parliamentarians, politicians of our importance in the national economy. We are determined to demonstrate our talent in superior wood processing, to show our courage to conquer new markets with authentic products."

However, looking in more detail list of exhibitors, we note that the segment of machinery and accessories for the furniture industry is not yet represented at the same level as furniture manufacturers. This reminds us of earlier editions of BIFE-SIM, when the whole industry was balanced, when both halls B1 and B2 were occupied. To return to the level that once defined this event, there are still steps to be taken to attract more exhibitors from this important segment of the industry.

We, Revista din Lemn, support the efforts of the organizers to bring BIFE-SIM back to its past level of participation. We have expressed our willingness to collaborate and are in permanent contact with both Romexpo and APMR in order to find the optimal solution through which we can add value to the event and thus contribute to its success.

All in all, with 122 companies already registered and 95% in Pavilion B2 occupied, BIFE-SIM 2024 is shaping up to be a significant event for the Romanian furniture industry. Although there is still room for growth, especially in the machinery and accessories sector, progress is evident and promising. We look forward to seeing how the event unfolds and its impact on the industry as a whole.
