Wood HUB at BIFE-SIM 2024: An interactive show dedicated to wood enthusiasts

From September 19-22, 2024, we invite you to join the enlarged team of the Wood Magazine at the stand Wood HUB at the fair BIFE-SIM 2024 of the ROMEXPO, Bucharestto discover a world of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation in woodworking. The Wood Hub will bring an atmosphere of celebration and energy to the fair, transforming each day into a true hands-on experience for all wood enthusiasts! It will be 4 days of fun and good times!

What will you find at the Wood HUB?

A team of skilled carpenters ready with many surprises in store

The team of carpenters consists of Fane Pănăzan, Radu Vădan, Radu Călian and Mihai Ursu.
They aim to work with different wooden objects and share their experience. You'll be able to follow the different stages, and if it's safe, you can work alongside them.

Among the projects on their list are:

• Getting bowls on the lathe
• Building a piece of furniture
• Dressing a giant wooden ball with hand-curved blades to become a table leg
• Bending a wooden board to make a continuous grain bench,
• Making a Native American flute. You'll also be treated to a live mini-concert on one

Come and see the team at work! You're sure to learn many secrets of the trade.

Practical and useful lessons for wood enthusiasts

There will be workshops and presentations for those interested in the various treatments applied to wood, but also for those who want to learn more about protective and finishing materials or how to recondition old furniture. Find out:

• How to get rid of wood-eating wood and other wood-eating insects
• How to make wood more fire-resistant
• How to discolor sun- and rain-darkened wood
• Tips for refurbishing old furniture
• What materials protect exterior wood.

Discussions, debates, product and technology presentations

In addition to demonstrations, we will cover topical topics on innovations in wood, solutions for carpenters and joiners, what is involved in starting a wood business, what steps those who have taken machinery through national or European funds have followed, trends in wood construction and much, much more.

A highlight will certainly be Vădan's meadow, a meeting place where any topic can be discussed over a glass of good beer. Radu Vădan will be the moderator. Don't miss these meetings, they're sure to be a lot of fun.

Competitions and fun

Competitions and fun will keep the atmosphere lively. You'll have the chance to use the rink to make a curly long wooden. You'll see what it's like to hammer nails into a log with the wrong end of a mallet, or how to put beer in your mouth with a special device designed by Fane. There'll be giant wooden bowling pins to knock over with an equally big ball. And the surprises don't stop there.

Activities such as furniture making, ball dressing, bowl turning or wood bending will take place throughout the day. But there will also be some that will run at certain times for a limited time. Here are some timetable highlights:
