Frederik Meyer has taken over the leadership of Eumabois, the European federation of woodworking machinery manufacturers' associations. With more than two decades of industry experience and a solid background in the field, Meyer brings a fresh vision at a crucial time for the European woodworking technology sector.
His professional background is remarkable: after graduating from Rosenheim University with a major in Wood Technology Engineering, he started his career as a carpenter in the Eastern Westphalia region of Germany. Over the last 18 years, he has developed his expertise within the Homag Group, one of the world's leading manufacturers of woodworking machinery, where he is currently Executive Vice President of the CNC Processing Division.
Meyer takes the baton from Luigi De Vito, who has left the position for new professional challenges. Alongside the new president, Enrico Aureli, president of the Italian association Acimall and vice-president of the Scm Group, will serve as vice-president of the federation.
"The position of president of an organization like Eumabois is a great honor, but also a challenge that I am committed to making a success," Meyer said after his appointment. He emphasizes the importance of adapting to major changes in the industry and the need for the European sector to maintain the high standards of innovation, safety and performance that have established it as a global benchmark.
Eumabois represents the interests of over 800 companies with around 35,000 employees and an estimated turnover of €7 billion. The federation brings together associations from countries such as Italy, Portugal, Turkey, Poland, France, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Germany and Slovakia, strengthening Europe's position as a leader in the development of technologies for the wood and furniture industry.
