From March 13 to 15, at its headquarters in Sinalunga (Siena), SCM is showcasing its latest innovations for "smart" wood processing
Manufacturer of woodworking technologies SCMis organizing the "Timber Construction Days" event, where it will present the latest solutions dedicated to the timber construction industry. In the spotlight will be the new OIKOS XS 650 CNC Machining Center, along with a renewed offering of software and digital services designed to maximize flexibility and productivity.
Cutting-edge technological innovations
In Tuscany, in the heart of Italy, SCM boasts a highly specialized industrial unit that has developed significantly in recent years to provide the wood construction industry with increasingly innovative, smart and connected solutions.
Among the novelties on display is the much-anticipated OIKOS XS 650 CNC Machining Center, the latest in the OIKOS range, which according to the manufacturer offers improved performance, increased productivity and flexibility in the machining of beams with a cross-section up to 650×310 mm.
The event will also highlight, Maestro lab beam&wallSCM software dedicated to all AREA and OIKOS CNC machining centers, developed on the new CAD/CAM Maestro lab.
Expanding production facilities
The official inauguration of the modernized industrial unit will take place during the event. The existing factory is now 501TPTP3T larger and will have an additional production space of 3,000 m², bringing the total to 10,000 square meters. This expansion aims to increase production capacity and optimize internal logistics.
Expertise and networking
The event organized by SCM will also be attended by industry experts representing client companies, partners and institutions, all of them collaborating with SCM. The presentation program will focus on key industry topics such as the digital transformation in solid wood processing, the future of timber construction in Industry 4.0, as well as case studies of successful projects from different countries.
"In line with the high demand in the wood construction industry, both in Europe and overseas, we have accelerated our R&D path and are proud to present the many results at the March event," says Tommaso Martini, Business Unit Manager for CNC Machining Centers and Wood Construction Systems. "We started from the production needs related to the construction of wooden buildings using solid wood and evolved towards promoting a new concept of 'smart wood'. We have done this with solutions that enable our customers to streamline their processes, optimizing workflows, saving material and covering a wider range of applications."
Visitors will have the opportunity to see the news first-hand, as well as take a guided tour of the factories and see other models such as OIKOS XS 450, OIKOS X, OIKOS XL and AREA X, designed for processing different types of beams and CLT elements.
Technology partners and complete solutions
Swedish company Randek, an SCM partner supplying complete systems for the wood frame sector, will also be present at the event. Also present will be a number of technology partners who have been working with SCM for a long time, providing complete solutions for customers: tool suppliers and software houses such as Oertli, Leitz, Cadwork, Hsbcad, Sema, Dietrichs and Innorenew.
