Venjakob VEN SPRAY ADVANCED: Machine for small batches and individual painting systems

At the Venjakob stand at Ligna 2025, Oliver Milde presented to us VEN SPRAY ADVANCED - a machine that looks to rewrite the rules of automated finishing for small and medium-sized companies. "The new VEN SPRAY ADVANCED, a machine built for smaller batches, individual batches with individual paint systems, some 2-component based that cannot be reclaimed. Also with modern water based paints, water based UV paints that can be recovered and reused again," Oliver explains the concept behind this innovation.

This machine is not just an improvement on the old model, but a fresh approach to automated finishing for a market that demands maximum flexibility.

Tape flexibility: paper vs plastic

"Here we have a combination of a machine with a possible paper conveyor belt. You can choose a 2-component system, which cannot be recovered, so you can run with a paper conveyor belt. On top of that, if you're working with water-based materials, water-based UV, you can stop working with the paper belt and start working with the plastic belt, which leads to this new paint recovery unit," Oliver details the dual system that makes the difference.

Advantages of the dual system:

  • Paper tapefor two-component systems that cannot be recovered
  • Plastic tapefor paints with recovery system
  • Quick changeoverbetween the two operating modes

Recovery system: 90% efficiency

Oliver proudly presents the innovation that makes VEN SPRAY ADVANCED really special: "About 80% of the distributed paint is in the area around the part on the main conveyor belt and the material can be reused. So we recover about 90% of that paint with this recovery unit."

"The rest of the 10% on the belt will be cleaned with a conveyor belt cleaning unit and thus ready for the next parts coming onto the belt," he continues, explaining the complete recovery cycle.

Economic impact:

  • 90% Recovery paint for water-based materials
  • The dramatic reduction material costs
  • Sustainability by minimizing waste

Removable cleaning system

A feature that demonstrates the practical thinking of Venjakob's engineers: "The entire cleaning unit can be disconnected and taken to a separate room. Very efficient and proper cleaning can be done. It can also be exchanged with a second one. One is prepared for water-based materials and one is prepared for solvent-based ones."

"So you can run solvent or water-based materials in quick succession. So you're very flexible with that. One investment gives you a lot of different possibilities to produce," Oliver emphasizes the flexibility that makes this machine ideal for diversified production.

Recognition and optimization technology

VEN SPRAY ADVANCED includes a sophisticated control system: 'Gun support to provide high-quality part coverage. It is driven by a workpiece recognition system with a very small division of detection sensors giving a very accurate picture of the parts entering the machine."

"The advantage of this precise detection is that the individual actuation of each gun optimizes paint usage and minimizes it," Oliver explains how modern technology contributes to economic efficiency.

Intelligent control system:

  • Automatic recognition the dimensions of the part
  • Individual control every gun
  • Automatic optimization paint consumption
  • Minimizing to waste

Smart ventilation

"This machine is built with a ventilated housing. We have two ventilation zones inside that can be adjusted depending on the paint system being used and the amount of overspray. This reduces dust in the machine," Oliver details the system that ensures optimal working conditions.

"Paper exhaust filters on the left and right side. So optimal adjustment of the air situation in the cabin," he continues, emphasizing the attention to detail in the design of the ventilation system.

Touchscreen control

"The whole machine is controlled through a touchscreen system where you can store different recipes, adjustments for the different types of products you produce," Oliver says of the user-friendly interface that simplifies operation.

This modern approach to control allows:

  • Storing recipes for different products
  • Quick changeover between finishes
  • Reproducibility Quality
  • Simplified operation for less experienced staff

Venjakob: the German leader in automatic finishing

Venjakob Maschinenbau, based in Rheda-Wiedenbrück, Germany, is recognized as one of the world leaders in automated finishing technology. The company develops complete solutions - from part feeding, pre-finishing operations and finish application to automated drying and handling.

In 2025, Venjakob was recognized as one of the most innovative in the German SME sector, confirming its position as a technology leader.

Distribution in Romania: 24Wood

"We sell in Romania through 24Wood. Please contact Katharina Seiler and her team to get more information about it", Oliver concludes the presentation, emphasizing that Venjakob technology is available in Romania through the distributor in Cristești, Mures.

24Wood, through Katharina Seiler, offers not only the distribution but also the technical support needed to implement and maintain these sophisticated finishing systems.

Who is VEN SPRAY ADVANCED for?

According to Oliver's specifications, VEN SPRAY ADVANCED addresses:

  • Small and medium-sized workshops who want to automate the finishing
  • Companies with diversified production that frequently changes colors
  • Manufacturers working with both water-based systems and solvents
  • Entrepreneurs who want to reduce material costs through recovery

Impact on Romanian industry

For the Romanian furniture industry, VEN SPRAY ADVANCED represents an opportunity to make the leap to automated finishing without prohibitive investment. The system's flexibility allows it to adapt to the specific requirements of the local market, where product diversity and small batches are common.

The paint recovery system not only reduces costs, but also meets the industry's growing demands for sustainability.
