SCM Group turns Open House 2026 into an integrated systems project

Italians from SCM Group are preparing for March 12-14, 2026 an Open House that goes beyond the classic machine showcase formula. On 4,000 square meters at the Rimini headquarters, we will be able to see what the transition looks like from individual machines to integrated systems capable of communicating with each other and turning data into production decisions. SCM Group's vision, of course.

The March 12-14 event comes with a clear premise: the competitive edge in woodworking is no longer just about the performance of a machine, but about the ability to integrate machinery, software and services into a flexible and connected production flow. It's a paradigm shift for the furniture, wood construction and carpentry industries, where increasing customization and ever-shorter production cycles are putting pressure on the way factories are organized.

The factory's digital brain

At the center of this integrated architecture is WinMES, the production execution system developed by SCM together with Tecnest. The application takes data from machines in real time and transforms it into operational information: it optimizes production flows, speeds up decisions and increases equipment reliability. In SCM terminology, WinMES becomes the “digital brain of the factory” - a phrase that suggests a move from simple automation to operational intelligence.

The digital ecosystem also includes Smart Spindle, a sensor system installed on the spindle that enables predictive analytics and prevents unplanned machine stops. To protect the entire infrastructure, SCM implements advanced cybersecurity solutions, an increasingly important issue as factories become more connected and more vulnerable to cyberattacks.

Starting in 2026, all new SCM machines will come with the Additional Care program, which offers an extended parts warranty, technical support and a three-year maintenance plan. It's an attempt to transform the customer relationship from an equipment sale to a long-term partnership.

Batch 1 production work cells

An integrated cell for cutting and nesting in Batch 1 production, combining automatic storage, Gabbiani GT 2 single-blade saw and Morbidelli X200 CNC machining center with integrated robot for unloading, will be presented in Rimini. The HP Flexstore system manages all formats of chipboard, recovers the off-cuts and organizes the sorting in advance, ensuring cell logistics even in shifts without operator.

Maestro Stackwise software optimizes panel stacking to reduce waste and increase yield. The anthropomorphic robot serves both the saw and the machining center, ensuring gentle part handling and maximum flexibility from loading to finished part.

For Batch 1-oriented small and medium-sized businesses, SCM introduces the Stefani Cell E, a compact entry-level solution for cant application to rectangular panels. It is a proposition for manufacturers who want to move from manual processing to automation without major investment.

Techno Logic and industrial robotics

The Open House will include a dedicated focus on Tecno Logica solutions, an SCM Group company specializing in integrated systems and robotics for very large production capacities. Tecno Logica's technologies are applied in multiple sectors, from woodworking to automotive and wider industrial applications, suggesting a cross-industry view on automation.

In the CNC center category, the Accord range welcomes two new models. The Accord 400 comes with the Flexmatic Pro worktable that automatically positions stacks and clamps, available in preset configurations depending on the application. The Accord 500 Edge is differentiated by the H80C Compact H80C Compact edge application technology, which allows operations with different types of edges and adhesives and automatic change of application type.

World first: Gabbiani AF range

The world premiere of the new Gabbiani AF formatting saw will be presented at the Villa Verucchio production plant. The range brings some significant innovations: production times are reduced through new fast work cycles, motorization systems are advanced, the saw carriage has power up to 27 kW, and the operating units are optimized to reduce energy consumption while maintaining high cutting precision.

Other strengths of the Gabbiani AF range include simplified machine maintenance and maximum operator safety, which are becoming increasingly important as safety standards tighten and labor costs rise.

Flexibility in applying the cant

In the field of edging, the key word will be flexibility. Stefani M is equipped with servo-assisted operating units that ensure precision and ease of use. The Multiedge system allows extremely fast, error-free changes with a single click. State-of-the-art cant bonding technologies extend the finishing possibilities for small and medium-sized manufacturers.

Also on display will be the Celaschi P20, the new automatic double-end sheeter, the most compact in the range. Along with the Celaschi P30, it stands out for its high productivity and precision, making it ideal for small and medium-sized businesses producing wood panels and alternative building materials, insulation, doors and solid wood components. It can operate as a stand-alone machine or integrated into a production line, ensuring maximum application flexibility.

Carpentry and timber construction

For the first time, the Windor NT1 angle machining center will be equipped with the new Optima BR drilling-milling unit, which allows all complementary machining operations, including horizontal milling, and the new Maestro Active Windoor software interface.

In the wood construction area, SCM will present in an immersive digital experience the new Area GL five-axis CNC center, designed for the machining of straight and curved glued laminated timber elements for public building roofs, multi-storey constructions and infrastructure projects. Key features include a working area of up to 5×50 meters and the ability to perform pendulum machining thanks to exclusive movable fences.

Matt finish and saw safety

The area dedicated to surface finishing will be centered around the matte effect, a continuously growing trend in the furniture world. Superfici will be unveiling Supermatt, a new matting system capable of achieving ultra-low-gloss finishes with a velvety tactile effect and outstanding durability. The system is simple, powerful and affordable, ensuring low operational costs and easy integration even into existing lines with limited investment.

At the joinery machines, visitors will explore the Nova SI 4, the most versatile circular saw in its class, with a new highly reliable sliding carriage guaranteed for ten years and extensive customization possibilities to suit specific application needs.

“L'Invincibile” SI 3BO will also be present: a circular saw equipped with the innovative Blade Off safety system, which minimizes inherent risks through an intelligent detection system and an efficient blade exclusion mechanism.

Aluminum processing

On display for the first time at the Technology Center in Rimini will be the MC 307 Falcon from Mecal Machinery, a group company. This four-axis machining center for aluminum, PVC and steel profiles ensures precision and high productivity. It is the fastest in its class, reaching speeds of up to 150 meters per minute, and stands out for its flexibility in machining aluminum profiles for both joinery applications (doors, windows, facades) and furniture components (kitchens, wardrobes, office partitions).

The presence of this machine at the Open House signals a trend that SCM has been following for some time: the convergence of wood and aluminum processing, as more and more factories produce windows and doors that combine the two materials.

More than a launch event

Beyond the live technical demonstrations, the Open House will include guided tours of SCM's production plants in Rimini, live video links to other Italian facilities and sessions dedicated to the latest technological and market trends. It's a formula that transforms the event from a product showcase into a learning and networking platform for the industry.

The full program and registration for the Open House is available on the SCM Group website at dedicated event section.
