The Wood Hub debuted as an island of wood and people in a sea of concrete in September 2024 at BIFE-SIM. An open-air stand with distinct zones full of energy and good cheer. A year and a half later, that island became an archipelago. And got an official name on the map of one of Romania's most important construction events.
At the 2026 editions of nZEB Expo, The Wood Hub will no longer be simply one exhibitor among many. It will be Timber Partner - the only thematic partner dedicated to the wood industry at the event organized by Marius Șoflete and his team. At the summer edition, from June 11 to 14, the Hub will manage its own 352-square-meter exhibition area in Pavilion B2 of Romexpo. The story then continues in the fall at the BT Arena, Cluj-Napoca. We are no longer talking about a stand, but an ecosystem.
Three zones, one message
At Romexpo, the Wood Hub will manage three distinct areas: two exhibition islands of 104 square meters each - where wood construction manufacturers will exhibit alongside machinery makers, accessory dealers and industry solution providers - and a 144-square-meter linear area that will function as both an exhibition space and a networking hub. Basically, anyone entering Pavilion B2 will know exactly where the heart of wood beats.
From event to event to professional club
Who enters the hublemn.ro Discover an organization that looks and talks differently than you would expect from a wood industry initiative. „Elite professional club” - that's how the Wood Hub presents itself in its new identity. Not a professional association, not an NGO, not a business platform in the classical sense. A club with espoused values - excellence, collaboration, sustainability, education, innovation - and an access mechanism that is not about company size or marketing budget, but professional relevance.
Membership is by application and evaluation. The code of conduct is not a formality but a filter. And partnerships - Danibrum, Litarh Wooden Houses and Wood-Mizer Romania Platinum level, Glulam, KDT and Szolvegy Vegyipari at Gold level - these are not sponsorships, but mutual commitments in a community that prefers quality.
Seven editions in 18 months
Since first appearing on BIFE-SIM Bucharest 2024 up to that of-7th edition scheduled at nZEB Expo Bucharest 2026, the Wood Hub has gone through six iterations that have shaped its identity. Each fair has added something: the first practical demonstrations at BIFE-SIM, the dialog between craftsmen and architects at nZEB Expo Bucharest 2025, the educational workshops at „Totul pentru Casa Ta” 2025. It was an organic growth, built on direct relationships and on a simple premise: the Romanian wood industry needs a place where the good and confident can find the tools to compete with anyone from around the globe, in a community with the same values and principles.
The partnership with nZEB Expo 2026 validates this premise. The organizers of the largest event dedicated to energy efficient construction in Romania have recognized that wood, as a building material and as an industry, deserves more than just a corner of the pavilion. It deserves a thematic partner. It deserves a hub.
Not just fairs
But the nZEB Expo won't be the Wood Hub's only playground in 2026. In addition to exhibiting at the shows, the Hub will be involved in organizing smaller events, some in-house, some with and for partners. The aim is the same, only the scale differs: to tighten the bonds between members of the community, to identify real synergies between companies and to search together for solutions that lead to excellence. Sometimes the best conversations don't happen in a 100 square meter booth, but at a wooden table with five people listening to each other.
What this means for industry
For manufacturers of timber houses, laminated timber, timber joinery, timber facades, bio-based materials or dedicated machinery, the Timber Partner status of the Timber Hub opens up a concrete opportunity: the presence in a coherent, visible and thematic exhibition space, at an event that attracts tens of thousands of visitors interested in energy-efficient construction every year. Not alongside brick and heat pump manufacturers, but alongside their industry peers, in an area that speaks the same language.
And for visitors - architects, engineers, builders, end-users - the Wood Hub will act as a guide: you enter a single area and find the whole spectrum of wood construction, from structure to finish, from materials to the machinery that processes them.
Epilogue looking into the future
The Wood Hub is not the only project trying to bring order and visibility to a fragmented industry. But it's probably the only one that has chosen to do it through a club model, not an association. A selection based on values, not dues. And through a partnership that puts wood at the center of the conversation about the future of construction in Romania.
From June 11 to 14 at Romexpo, the Wood Hub will for the first time have a space to match its ambition. It remains to be seen whether the industry will respond.
