Do you know how oak barrels influence the taste of wine? So wood also benefits from wine. A chemistry is produced, a beautiful friendship is formed with a mutual exchange of aromas, scents and colors.
The wine is usually matured in oak barrels, as is often the case for parquet flooring oak wood. The following idea brings together the common element - oak wood - and is one of the most beautiful and interesting ideas for using disused barrels.
I refer to manufacture of parquet or flooring made from oak wood from wine barrels.
The deep color is the result of the impregnation of the wine into the wood during aging.
The barrels, from the Bordeaux region, are carefully selected for their new use. Once detached, the planks are soaked in water to even out the color. The planks are then glued with glue to the wooden planks and finished with clear lacquer to protect the surface. The result is a naturally colored parquet floor with a unique and sophisticated alternation of shades.
American wines also make beautiful parquet. VWF succeeds in getting strong and spectacular colors from the wines of the Napa Valley region.
And to emphasize the origin and authenticity of the wood, there is also a variant that highlights the outside of the barrel.
Tip: Drink the wine and don't try it on the ready-made floor! If you have a big house you will need a lot of wine to spill on the floor or if the "flooring" is laminate, you won't even be able to make a petișoară.
Good wine! Cheers!
It's so beautiful in the pictures you want to sleep on the floor 🙂
I caught this article just as I was researching flooring for my own apartment. I think if I twist my neck one more time, I'll get it done by Joan!
In this case, an on-the-spot documentation might not hurt.
What I don't understand is how you manage to straighten those curved pieces of wood to this level of being perfectly level.
@ christi,
using steam and a press, even a rudimentary one. the technology is over 3000 years old.
