Secrets of composite mineral processing - free workshop organized by Felder Gruppe Romania

Felder Gruppe Romania is organizing this week, on Thursday 23 and Friday 24 May, a workshop to learn the secrets of processing composite mineral materials. Processing will be done with tools Albin Kraus and Festooldemonstrations by special guest Robert Kraussales director at Albin Kraus and Bogdan Negru, product manager at Felder Gruppe Romania, passionate about Festool tools.

I am pleased to note that meetings between companies and clients or potential clients have become more and more frequent in this world of wood, and this is a good thing. They are home-made events that are good for both parties. I appreciated the meetings that Felder Gruppe Romania organized last year to discuss Start-Up Nation and found them very useful. This time the meeting will be about processing composite mineral materials. Those who work in the furniture industry and want to impress with a modern and unique design often come across composite materials - plastic, corian, plexi - and knowledge about processing these materials is not exactly at hand. The two trainers will tell and show you about tools and the processing of mineral composite materials.

Why should you attend the workshop?
  • Because get a chance to see how composites can be processed well that you can use to make furniture;
  • Because the presentation will be made by two specialists can help clear up many of the questions you may have;
  • Because there will be practical demonstrations and so you can see the tools at work;
  • Because find out more about Albin Kraus and tools from the man who runs it;
  • And not least because there will be offers on the Albin Kraus and Festool range of tools, as well as on composite boards offered by authorized partners.

And if we haven't convinced you yet, here are some facts about the two tool brands that will be used for machining composite materials.

Albin Kraus - Austrian company specializing in composite mineral tools

Albin Kraus was established in 1937, named after the owner himself. It was a workshop specializing in sharpening saw blades. In 1967 the business was taken over by the son, who extended the services to other tools, eventually designing and producing tools of very high quality. From a simple workshop, a factory grew and grew. However, the company was in Vienna and this limited its development. So in 2002, the company moved to a new building in Tulln an der Donau, which offered enough space for both services and the development of its own tool line.

The firm is now in its third generation and is run by Robert and Wolfgang Kraus. They say of their family business that it is small enough to be able to be very flexible and give quick answers and solutions, and large enough to be equipped for any requirement. Albin Kraus is now a company specializing exclusively in the design and production of tools and machines for professional processing of composite mineral materials, offering consultancy through workshops where they teach participants about professional processing techniques for composite mineral materials.

Robert Kraus is the one who will give the Albin Kraus tooling workshop. He has over 30 years of experience in the field of composite materials processing and knows it very well. He will present practical solutions for thermoforming, cutting, milling, joining, bonding and sanding of materials such as corian, hanex, staron, Hi-Macs, plexicor, plastic, etc.

Festool - the most popular brand of professional woodworking and construction tools

Festool is so well known that it seems hard to say anything unfamiliar about this brand. I'll try with a little history. The company was founded in Esslinger, Germany in 1925 by Albert Fezer and Gottlieb Stoll. The company was originally called Fezer&Stoll, becoming Festo in 1933. In 1992 it became Festo Tooltechnic to distinguish it from Festo Preumatic and in 2000 it became Festool.

The changes were driven by the development of the company in several directions, which eventually led to the separation of the Festool "branch" into a separate company. After Gottlieb Stoll's death in 1971, the business was taken over by his two sons, who, in 2000, handed over the Festool brand to their sister, Gerda Maier-Stoll. The company is now run by Barbara Austel, Gottlieb Stoll's granddaughter.

Festool is now the world's most renowned brand of professional tools for woodworking (carpentry, joinery, furniture assembly), painting, automotive or construction applications (renovation, masonry, insulation, assembly).The German manufacturer offers a wide range of hand tools recognized worldwide for precision, comfort and flexibility in machining.

He was elected Bogdan Negru to present the tools because he is the one that all Felder Gruppe Romania customers turn to when they want to know new things about Festool tools or when they have problems. He has a long experience of working with them so you will be able to ask anything you want to know. Of course the explanations will be accompanied by practical demonstrations.

Go to workshop and take advantage of the information you will receive for free! No need to go on both days. The organizers say they chose to make the workshop 2 days precisely to give you the possibility to choose what is best for you. And if you'd like to join them on both days, they'll welcome you. Here you can reserve your place at the workshop for processing composite mineral materials.
