Next week, on May 27, it starts LIGNA 2019, the machinery fair in Hannover and everyone interested in this field aims to be there. The fair, held every two years and considered the world's largest trade fair for woodworking machinery, runs until May 31. It's the fair where the latest innovations in the field are showcased and where you can see concepts and technologies from the future. One example is AUTOMACTION, the Biesse concept I told you about recently. Firms large and small will be there, battling it out in state-of-the-art robots, computer-aided machines that can be controlled remotely or factories that run without an operator. In short, vThe future is already here.
Fully automated Biesse solutions for panel processing
Biesse, an important name in the field of state-of-the-art machinery manufacturing, aims to impress at LIGNA 2019 with machines and automated lines deployed this year on an area of 6ooo m². Perhaps what will attract the most attention of visitors will be the 3 automated panel processing lines. These are solutions developed together with partners, recognized furniture manufacturers, the result being an optimized process and increased quality of the finished product.
The 3 lines are:
- Automated line that can cut and process up to 1500 panels/shift, developed together with CUBO DESIGN. The raw panels in the storage area are picked up, processed and sorted, all the component parts of a complete kitchen furniture finally arriving together on a pallet;
- The line includes robot-assisted machines that can process up to 1000 panels/shift. It is developed together with LAGO, an Italian designer specialized in residential furniture of all types;
- Automated line recommended for bathroom or commercial furniture manufacturers, which can produce up to 600 panels/shift. The result of collaboration with BMT BAGNI, it is based on their experience in bathroom furniture production.
Get an idea of what these automated lines are all about by watching the video below:
The lines have integrated, versatile and efficient panel handling robots so operator intervention is no longer necessary. The robotic assistance system is new from Biesse at LIGNA 2019 and is called ROS (Robotically Operated System).
More information about Biesse's presence at LIGNA 2019 and the automated lines (including presentation videos) is available at Accessory equipment, Biesse representative in Romania. I also found here link to access free invitations at the fair, provided by Biesse.
Vitap - a new concept in wood processing
As I was saying, smaller, but equally impressive when it comes to automation and digitization, are also showcased at LIGNA 2019. One such example is Vitap, also represented in Romania by Accesoria Echipamente. One of the Italian manufacturer's ongoing concerns is to manufacture machines with small dimensions but high performance. One such machine is the Eclipse cartoning machine, presented by us at length some time ago.
In the category of small machines are the POINT range of drilling CNCs. The range includes:
- POINT 2 - Large capacity CNC multiple drilling machine. It is a flexible solution that saves time and space. It features a laser reading system and continuous and constant side-pressing of the panel for very high precision drilling;
- POINT K.2 2.0 - Compact CNC for milling, profiling, drilling and cutting, top of the range in series. Features automated tool magazine and a Y-axis working length of 1250 mm. Unique patented Vitap patented workholding system - D-D-T (Double Dynamic Transport) - which consists of a system with 2 clamps that support the material while it is being processed, thus ensuring uninterrupted operation.
- POINT K.2 920 - easy to operate and program CNC, configured with 2 Vitap patented systems - Double Dynamic Transport® and Bar Nesting System®. The Bar Nesting System allows you to maintain all the advantages of nesting without limiting the execution of horizontal holes. Large working area on the Y-axis of 920 mm.
- POINT Acoustic - CNC drilling machine for the production of acoustic and sound absorption panels. Soft designed in such a way as to allow very precise drilling without the execution speed being influenced. It can drill 55 holes every 4 seconds.
Those interested in these small, high-performance machines can find here more information.
As you can see, LIGNA is shaping up to be an interesting fair full of surprises. Automation, digitalization seem to be the stars of this year's edition and that makes it all the more appealing. Because all these high-performance systems seem to turn work into a game with robots.
