LIGNA 2019 starts next week. You can still get free invitations

Next week, on 27 May, the LIGNA 2019The machinery fair in Hanover and everyone interested in this field aims to be there. The fair, which is held every two years and is regarded as the largest machinery fair for woodworking and wood processing, will run until 31 May. It's the fair where the latest innovations in the field are presented and where you can see concepts and technologies from the future. One example is AUTOMACTION, the Biesse concept I told you about recently. Companies large and small will be there, "battling" in state-of-the-art robots, computer-assisted machines that can be controlled remotely or factories that operate without an operator. In short, vThe future is already here.

Fully automated Biesse solutions for panel processing

Biesse, a leading name in the production of state-of-the-art machinery, aims to impress at LIGNA 2019 with machines and automatic lines deployed this year on an area of 6ooo m². Probably what will attract most visitors' attention will be the 3 automated panel processing lines. These are solutions developed together with partners, well-known furniture manufacturers, resulting in an optimised process and increased quality of the finished product.

The 3 lines are:

  • Automated line that can cut and process up to 1500 panels/shift, developed together with CUBO DESIGN. The raw panels in the storage area are picked, processed and sorted, with all the component parts of a complete kitchen furniture finally arriving together on a pallet;
  • Line including robot-assisted machines that can process up to 1000 panels/shift. It is being developed with LAGO, an Italian designer specialising in residential furniture of all types;
  • Automated line recommended for manufacturers of bathroom or commercial furniture, which can produce up to 600 panels/shift. The result of collaboration with BMT BAGNI, it is based on their experience in the production of bathroom furniture.

You can get an idea of what these automated lines mean by watching the video below:

The lines have integrated robots for handling the panels, versatile and efficient, so operator intervention is no longer necessary. The robotic assistance system is a Biesse novelty at LIGNA 2019 and is called ROS (Robotically Operated System).

More information about Biesse's presence at LIGNA 2019 and the automated lines (including presentation videos) is available at Accessory equipment, Biesse representative in Romania. Also here we found link for free access to invitations at the fair, provided by Biesse.

Vitap - a new concept in wood processing

As I said, smaller but equally impressive companies are also showcased at LIGNA 2019 when it comes to automation and digitisation. One such example is Vitap, also represented in Romania by Accesoria Equipamente. One of the Italian manufacturer's ongoing concerns is to manufacture small but high-performance machines. One such machine is the Eclipse boring machine, presented by us at length some time ago.

The POINT range of CNC drilling machines are also in the category of small machines. The range includes:

  • POINT 2 - Large capacity multi-drill CNC. It's a flexible solution that saves time and space. It features a laser reading system and continuous and constant side panel pressing for very high precision drilling;
  • POINT K.2 2.0 - compact CNC for milling, profiling, drilling and cutting, top of the range in series. It has an automated tool magazine and a Y-axis working length of 1250 mm. Unique patented Vitap workholding system - D-D-T(Double Dynamic Transport) - which consists of a system with 2 clamps that support the material while it is being processed, thus ensuring uninterrupted operation.
  • POINT K.2 920 - CNC easy to operate and program, configured with 2 patented Vitap systems - Double Dynamic Transport® and Bar Nesting System®. Bar Nesting System allows you to maintain all the advantages of nesting without limiting the execution of horizontal holes. Large Y-axis working area of 920 mm.
  • POINT Acoustic - CNC drilling machine for producing acoustic and sound absorption panels. Software designed to allow very precise drilling without affecting the speed of execution. Can make 55 holes every 4 seconds.

Those interested in such small, high-performance machines will find here more information.

As you can see, LIGNA is shaping up to be an exciting fair full of surprises. Automation, digitisation seem to be the stars of this year's edition and that makes it all the more attractive. Because all these high-performance systems seem to turn work into robot play.
