Free workshop on finishing wood and walls with natural products

October 4-5, NaturalPaint organizes in Gheorgheni a Kreidezeit natural products workshop used for finishing wood and walls. The products presented and tested will be natural oils and waxes for floors and other wooden objects, lime or clay-based plasters and paints. Martin Krampfer, a specialist in natural paints and building materials and a certified environmental advisor for craftsmanship, representing Kreidezeit, will talk about the benefits of natural products for the health of both the home and the people living in it. He will also give practical demonstrations showing how to apply the materials. Whether you are an architect, builder, craftsman, painter, NaturalPaint distributor or just interested in natural materials you are equally welcome. Attendance is free, but places are limited so you should register as soon as possible. To register go to this link. On the event page you will find information about the agenda, how to get there and where to stay.

NaturalPaint - a promoter of the use of natural products for home construction and finishing

Years ago, especially in the villages, plastering walls with clay and painting them with lime or protecting wood with oil and/or wax was quite common. Our grandparents did it just as their grandparents had done it. They knew from their elders that a varnished house protects you from "chest" diseases and protects the house from mold, insects or fungi. It was also the reason why, every spring, they would paint the trunks of trees. This protected them from insects and diseases and in the fall they harvested healthy fruit without spraying them with all kinds of chemicals.

For a while we seemed to forget this way of finishing and protecting wood and the house. Furniture looked prettier if it had many coats of varnish as glossy as possible, and the veneer-like look didn't bother. Walls were protected with materials where the nails were no longer hammered in with a hammer but with a drill and the paint had to be cheap, not peel off the wall and dry instantly. It didn't matter that the materials didn't behave naturally, the important thing was to save time and money.

NaturalPaint set out many years ago to promote a return to natural house materials. Despite a difficult start, it has continued to move in this direction and to show people that it is better to live in houses with walls plastered with clay and painted with lime, and where wood is oiled and waxed. Over time it moved on to other products, expanding its portfolio to include natural insulations based on wood fiber, hemp, jute or sheep's wool for wooden or brick houses.

In addition to selling natural products, NaturalPaint has also taken the time to explain why it is better to use such products, why they are healthier, to contradict such sayings as natural products are less resistant or harder to apply. The workshop on October 4 and 5 in Gheorgheni is one of the opportunities where you can learn about the benefits of natural products and learn how to apply them so that they last as long as possible.

Why should you attend a workshop on natural products?

To find out that going back to natural products doesn't mean you have to turn off the lime or search for good clay in the riverbanks. Now the lime and clay are processed in the factory and brought into a user-friendly form. Processing is done according to the technologies of the past, leaving the end product as natural as ever.

To understand that not all oils and waxes are equally natural and that the difference between flaxseed oil and boiled linseed oil is exactly the difference between unnatural and natural. They both dry faster than natural linseed oil, except that the sikativated linseed oil has added chemicals that speed up drying.

And these are just two examples. I could go on with sustainable and healthy construction, environmental and human health protection, modern and traditional painting and plastering systems, oil-based paints, lacquers, oils and floor waxes. But I'll let you discover them for yourself event page. There you will find the agenda for the 2 workshop days and information about the practical demonstrations.

Don't miss the natural materials workshop on October 4-5! You have the opportunity to find out lots of interesting information and learn new finishing procedures.
