The famous Wood-Mizer LT40 saw - now with an optional LAT cutting head

Wood-Mizer introduces a new wide saw head for the well-known LT40 saw model. This optional head increases cutting capacity and is useful for woodworkers who require extra cutting width.

The wide saw head increases the maximum width of cut from 72 cm on standard models to 84 cm on wide head models. A wider saw head allows larger diameter logs - up to 100 cm - to be cut.

The LT40WIDE model is equipped with a 483 mm diameter belt flywheel and uses a 433 сm long blade. To ensure superior blade stability, the new LT40WIDE is equipped with an improved blade guide arm system.

Cutting capacity of the LT40WIDE saw:

  • Maximum log diameter 100 cm
  • Maximum flow width 84 cm (distance between the rollers)
  • Maximum prism width 63 cm
  • Log length 5 m (Bed S) or 6.3 m (Bed M) or 8.6 m (Bed L)

The optional LAT head is now also available for other Wood-Mizer saw models, such as LT15WIDE and LT70WIDE.

"When the optional wide head was introduced for the most popular LT40 saw model, we found that, for example, in the USA almost all new LT40 saws were ordered with this option"shares Roman Frontczak, Director of Research and Development at Wood-Mizer. "The new wide-head saws offer processors superior capacity for cutting wider planks without sacrificing any of the saw's mobility characteristics or production yield."

The design of the log clamp will also be improved to provide a superior maximum cutting capacity for prisms up to 72 cm wide.
