Catas, Europe's leading laboratory for testing in the furniture and woodworking industry, will be present at the first edition of Interzum Forum Italy, the new biennial exhibition and conference dedicated to the world of subcontracting, to be held in Bergamo from 6-7 June. The event will be enriched by a varied programme of meetings and debates, during which Catas will offer participants its experience and expertise in the field of sustainability and increasingly stringent European regulations.
Catas representatives will make two presentations at the forum. On 6 June, at 11:00, Catas Director Franco Bulian will address the topic "Environmental certification of products: requirements of Italian and international markets". On the second day, 7 June, from 13:00, Matilde Ceschia, Head of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) department at Catas, will present a contribution entitled "Towards a circular economy: from the Ecodesign Directive to the Digital Product Passport (DPP)".
Director Franco Bulian said that participation in the Bergamo event represents a new opportunity for Catas to be at the service of companies in the context of profound and challenging changes related to environmental issues. He mentioned the European directive on "Green Claims", which aims to combat greenwashing and the proliferation of labels that are not supported by objective data.
Bulian also underlined the possibility offered by Catas to scientifically measure sustainability, thanks to the international LCA protocol, which can be the basis for an eventual EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) certification and allows monitoring and acting on the real energy and resource consumption of companies.
For the duration of the exhibition, Catas will be present at stand D1 in pavilion B of Interzum Forum Italy.
